August 24, 1952 – September 5, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Youchun John Wu (insert Chinese name), age 73, of Cerritos, California, who departed this life peacefully on September 5, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
A devoted husband, proud father, cherished brother, and loyal friend, Youchun touched the lives of many with his unconditional kindness, powerful strength, and unwavering love. He built a life in Taiwan, where he was born, and in the United States, that was rooted in integrity and generosity, always putting others before himself and offering a helping hand without hesitation.
Youchun was the heart of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years [Mary], his children [Elizabeth and Vivian], his siblings [Wei Chun, Marian and Anita], and his grandchildren [Charlotte, Isabel, Leo and Austin]. He also leaves behind the loving brothers and sisters of the Church, countless friends and extended family members who will miss his steady presence, warm smile, and the wisdom he shared so freely.
Whether gathered around the dinner table, lending a hand to a friend, or sharing stories from his rich and well-lived life, Youchun had a unique way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 20 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, with services beginning at 9am at SkyRose Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601. Youchun will be laid to rest in the Summer Terrace in Rose Hills, Gate 1, Section 7, Lot: 1928, Grave: 2.
Though he may be gone from our sight, Youchun will live forever in our hearts.
