Yolanda Olga McEachern (Rivera Joffroy) was born on December 24, 1944, in Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico, and entered eternal rest on December 30, 2025. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by love, laughter, and compassion. After moving to the United States in 1966, she met and married her beloved husband, Raymond McEachern, and together they raised six children: Mike, Terry, Sondra, Patricia, Victor, and Edward. Upon her passing, she was joyfully reunited in heaven with her husband and four of her children.
Yolanda is survived by her daughter Patricia, her son Victor, her brothers Fausto and Francisco, her sisters Mona and Gloria, and her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom were the center of her world. Of all her roles, being a grandmother brought her the greatest joy. She never missed a birthday call, made every holiday special, and always made sure her grandchildren felt deeply loved and supported.
She taught her family the importance of always staying grounded in who you are and never failed to leave them with countless life lessons wrapped in laughter. Her compassion for others extended beyond people to the many animals she loved and cared for including Frisky, Flash, Ginger, Chiquita, Red the chicken, PeeWee, Tiny, and her newest companion, Crystal the cat. She also treasured her lifelong friendships, especially those built around her favorite pastime—bingo. These friendships—many of which span more than six decades—brought her endless joy, especially during bingo nights filled with laughter and chisme.
Yolanda will forever be remembered for her sassy humor, boundless love, and the beautiful legacy she leaves in the hearts of all who knew her.
Yolanda's final resting place will be in the Sacred Heart section, row 8, lot 3135, space 2, at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier.
