

Thelma Mae Brown transitioned from this life on February 19, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born on May 18, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Lem Lee Williams and Theesa Beatrice Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Alma Mays, three brothers, Lemuel Bert Williams, Billy Joe Williams and Albert Lee Williams. Her youngest son, Gerald Lynn Brown and infant daughter Linda Brown preceded her in death as well.
Thelma attended Little Rock Public Schools from kindergarten through her senior year at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School graduations in 1948.
In 1955, Thelma married George Brown, Jr. and moved to California. To this union five children were born, Craig, Gerald, Chandra, Linda and Yolanda.
Thelma received Christ as her Personal Savior and joined St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church in 1983 under the pastorate of the late Otto McClinton
Thelma retired from the County Of Los Angeles Department Of Social Services in 2001 after 31 years of service.
Thelma leaves to cherish her memory, one son Craig Brown of Tulsa Oklahoma, four daughters, Georgia Brown (Stepdaughter) of Temple City, Viesta Brown (Stepdaughter) of Los Angeles, Chandra Brown of Temple City and Yolanda Brown of Pomona, one sister Sophronia Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, one aunt Naomi Maxies of Maumelle Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, Ryan Dennis, Craig Brown II, LaPorsha Ventus, DeJon Ventus, DaQuan Ventus, Brice Brown, Malcolm Brown, Latasia Ventus, Noah Brown, Aliyah King and Jeremiah Brown, thirteen great-grandchildren; Tyquise Lazenby, Amelia Lazenby, Tymaurie Lazenby, Lyric Ventus, Kaydence Ventus, Makiah Veler, Jaden Ventus, Tylan Lazenby, Christian Walker, Alana Walker, Maliyah Ventus, Italy Ventus, Italia Ventus and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
