Rubén Ruíz Rodríguez

Rubén was born in Villamar, Michoacán, México on May 28, 1946, to Leobardo Ruíz and Socorro Ruíz Rodríguez. He moved to California in the 1960’s. Rubén worked at Weslock Company as a doorknob polisher for twenty-nine years.

Rubén met his late wife, María Luisa Ruíz in San Pedro Cahro, Michoacán, México and married in the early 1970’s. They had five children, Rubén Ruíz Jr., Ricardo Ruíz, Jorge Elíjio Ruíz, Elíjio Luiz Ruíz, and Francisco Jabier Ruíz. Rubén and María were married for thirty-four years until his wife's untimely death in 2006. In 2008, Rubén remarried Elena Rodríguez Ruíz. Rubén and Elena were married for fifteen years until his passing.

Rubén was a hard-working husband, father, and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. He was a man of honor and strength, sacrificing himself for the betterment of his family. His kindhearted nature was felt by many. Rubén believed in the gift of giving, always making sure that family, friends, neighbors, and tenants were fed with a bountiful harvest of meals. He was greatness personified. His contributions to his community will forever be remembered. Rubén had a lifetime devotion to Saint Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Church. For many years, he served as a Minister of the Eucharist during Sunday mass, and also served as a volunteer who donated his famous grilled chicken to their annual fair and events for fundraising purposes.

Rubén’s compassion and humility is a token of honor that so many wish to emulate. He was a man of all trades. Rubén was the sole contractor for all his income properties, never allowing anyone but himself and his sons to do repairs. Although he is no longer here, his legacy will forever carry on through his sons. His soul rests in God’s divine kingdom where he has reunited once again with his first wife and parents. May his light never dim as his essence lives on through all of us.

Rubén is survived by his wife, Elena Rodríguez Ruíz, sons Rubén Ruíz Jr., Ricardo Ruíz, Jorge Elíjio Ruíz, Elíjio Luiz Ruíz, Francisco Jabier Ruíz, step-daughter Monserrat De La A Soto, grandchildren Michael Ruíz, Briana Ruíz, Samantha Ruíz, Yahiley Ruíz, Vianney Ruíz, Ricardo Ruíz Jr., George Jesús Ruíz Jr., Lupe María Luisa Ruíz, Francisco Ruíz Jr., Natalia Ruíz, and step-grandchildren Summer De La A Soto, Robert De La A Soto Jr., and Lourdes De La A Soto.

Rubén is also survived by his seven siblings, Jesús Ruíz, Teresa Toro, María Luisa Bobadilla, Elena Ruíz, Leopoldo Ruíz, Felipe Ruíz, and Socorro Lazaro.
