When I think of the Man with Many Names it brings a large smile to my face!

I am so sorry for your loss. Bogie was a warm & genuine person. He always made you feel welcome. He may be gone from this Earth, but as long as he lives in our hearts,  he will live with us forever.  God Bless you all !!

I’ll always remember that smile and the happiness felt when I was in your presence at our family parties. I remember taking this picture and you were so patient with me as I took picture after picture to take the right one :) I still took a blurry one and we laughed so hard! Great memory and had to share! Rest in Peace Bogie!

These last few years I have had the pleasure of enjoying the time my uncle would spend coming out Jayden’s birthday parties with aunt Celia and embrace as of a grandson not just a nephew. He brought joy to Jayden’s life as well as experience and memories to mine. Love you always uncle.if God to outs you to work up there I hope it’s putting out them he’ll fires down here!

Bogie was SO special! Always a smile! And who didn’t love his Great and contagious Giggle! Such a kind soul. I will miss him very much. ❤️


Dad was a farmer at heart. He always loved his animals. Even the turkeys would get jealous of one another when he showed one affection and not the other. 

I have known Roy since the time of their wedding with Willie. A beautiful life... celebrated, remembered, honored now and always. With my sincere feelings and heart felt thoughts I simply say farewell to a good soldier: In each of our memories and our thoughts of our special ones who meant so much and the happiness they surely brought towards each of us. Ted, myself, and kids all loved Bogie, Cissy and Bogie were great hosts of great 4th of July celebration at their home and at Grant Rae Park. We had known him a short time, we all went to Big Bear, played cards till early morning, it was snowing out and our dear Bogie decided to go out and make snow angels in his birthday suit. He always put a smile on all our faces, and his crazy laugh was infectious. He wasn’t a big guy, but he had a huge personality and heart, he will be missed. I can’t imagine how Cissy, Janine, Willy and grandkids are feeling. But you have all of our love and hugs surrounding you. Lovingly,  Ted, Rosie And kids. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

One of many lunches we shared at Glory Days, in Lakewood, after golf. Bogie was always the life of the party. Bogie wasn’t that great of a golfer, but you wouldn’t know it by how he bragged about taking our money. I nicknamed him “Double Bogie.”
We will not only miss him, but also miss all the oranges and grapefruits he shared with all his “Golf Buddies.”

Sissy and Family,
He had the Greatest Name.
And was one of the Greatest Personalities we all have known.
Rest in Peace is the comment that's used when one passes,
but I don't think Bogie will be resting in the afterlife. I know he has a lot to do.  His smile will always make me smile !




Bogie was always there with a smile.  A pleasure to work with and good at what he did.  He will be missed by many including myself.

Truly “Bogie” was one of the nicest men & firefighter you could ever meet and work with. It didn’t matter if you were a firefighter rookie or the Fire Chief , he always had a kind word & a smile  for you, If he happened to be cooking that made it an even more special day..  The world needs more people like him, he will be missed.

Wow, I’m so so sorry for your lose. I worked with Bogie at 5s for years as a medic. He was highly respected and loved by all. Very sad day. 

The Army didn't teach me how to work 24 hr. days, Roy did. Not enough can be said about the fireman, the man, the father, my dear uncle. His wit and direct words defined his loveable personality. He was a man of action with a huge heart, honorable and near 100% true. I would rather have fought by his side than with him. He didn't want my advice as to where to put his money in tech back 2000 and he didn't want my schooling him. Honestly, I could never have repaid him for what he did for my family in 1984 but all he and Aunt Celia wanted was for John and I to grow up to become responsible, accountable men. 

As carbon-based organisms, we fade as memories, unless otherwise kept alive for personal reasons. In his final months, how would Uncle Roy have wanted it to play out? A simple question we can all ponder, actually. My work as a data scientist, web developer, psychic soldier led me to nickname my targeting program "Bogie" post 9/11. 

Roy knew his limitations, and that is what made him truly awesome. I needed him to survive and also reflect himself in my labors where others may be blinded to the facts and/or beauty of our creations. Roy planted his seeds in all of us, it is up to us to water the grounds of hope, inspiration, love. 


My deepest condolences to Bogey’s family. I was privileged to serve him and his retired fire fighter buddies at Glory Days in Lakewood after they’d golf on Thursdays, although I don’t think he golfed. He drank Bud Light and ate pretzels with them. He was always so nice and cheerful and laughed a lot. It’s sad to believe he is gone now. May you all find comfort knowing his soul is with The Lord and he is resting in peace. May he watch over you all until you meet again in Heaven.
