When Robert and I rekindled our friendship over 15 years ago. I would go to the union Pacific Railway golf club tournaments three times a year with him. I knew we would have four or five good days with each other. He had more illnesses than anyone person deserve’ s. He was such a fighter and I will miss him very very much. Claudia I’m sorry for your loss.

I met Bob back in 2000 when I was working for Union Pacific Railroad. I had been transferred to Roseville, CA to work on the Western Region in the Environmental Management Group. Bob’s company was working with Union Pacific at the time. Bob was always quick to respond and was someone I relied on time and time again during my 8 years in Roseville.  During that time, my relationship with Bob became something more than just a working relationship and he became someone who I considered a friend. Bob is someone I feel very fortunate to have met. Bob’s positive outlook and belief in the good in others will be missed. Rest easy Bob.

Robert was a great man and walked with our Lord. He was an inspiration to me. He was humble, kind and spiritual. I appreciated Robert's emails, reminding me about the importance of following Him. My husband and I have great memories of Robert. I knew him from a very long time ago. He was my bother Rick Wahlers friend. He made us laugh every time we saw him. Our condolences to the family. A wonderful man.

I met Bob in late 1999 shortly after I started working in the environmental field. He was the contact for all the  work we did for Union Pacific Railroad so he was kind of like my boss. Shortly after I started working for him, he became a friend and almost like a father to me and my brother who later joined the company. He always took really good care of us and even took us along with him through three companies.

I remember a time, after finishing a big job at the railroad yard in Roseville CA, he invited the whole crew including wives to spend a weekend in the central California coast. He covered all the expenses: meals, hotel rooms, and the entry to visit Hearst Castle. To me, that's not something a normal boss does. He really appreciated us.

The last times I spoke to him, he still had a lot of good advice for me. Even though his health was already declining, he still made time to meet up for breakfast every now and then. I will miss him and will always remember what a great boss and friend he was to me and my brother for over 20 years.

Remembering Bob: A True Professional and Kind Soul

It is with a heavy heart that we share these words about Bob, a constant professional whose strength was his profound kindness. Bob was a cornerstone of the environmental industry, and his name was synonymous with integrity, compassion, and unwavering grit. His dedication to every task was truly awe-inspiring, a level of professional commitment we can all aspire to.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bob was a deeply caring individual who always offered positive advice and a listening ear to both work-related challenges and personal struggles. I will personally never forget when I landed my first big railroad job; Bob went out and bought me my first pair of work boots. That's the kind of person he was – someone who genuinely wanted to see you succeed.

But even greater than his professional strengths was Bob's love for the Lord. He shared his testimony openly and authentically in everyday conversations, a testament to his faith and courage.

Bob, you will be deeply missed, my friend. We can only imagine the joyous celebration in Heaven with you as the guest of honor.

I met Bob at United Pumping.   He was in charge of the Railroad division working with Union Pacific and BNSF railroad.    He was so dedicated and worked so tirelessly 24/7 
We worked on several projects together and he would always have so much knowledge .   I was able to meet Joe Balfour and Bob for lunch after Joe and I retired from United as great friends.      It was so nice to visit with Bob and Claudia at their home and meet his family and friends.      He touched so many with his love for the lord     We will miss him and we are sending hugs and prayers to his family.   He was a wonderful friend and co-worker

Bob was an amazing man and a blessing to the United family for 14 years. We are so very grateful for his hard work and devotion to the company and all of his team members that he supported by his efforts.
