Good evening, and a very warm welcome to our TMU class group.

Your father was a cherished member of this group, and we all treasure the many wonderful memories we shared with him. The photos from our small reunion in Taiwan a few years ago, which you so thoughtfully shared with us, brought back so many happy memories and reminded us of the joy and warmth he always brought to our lives.

Your father was a truly loving man. His family was the greatest treasure of his life. Whenever he spoke about you, your sisters and any your family, his face would light up with a smile. It was so clear how deeply he loved all of you and how immensely proud he was.

We hope you will feel just as much a part of this TMU family as your father did. Please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts, your memories of your father, or updates about yourself and your family. We would love to get to know you better and to keep your father’s spirit alive through the stories and memories we share together.

如果有一天，你突然讀懂了 #釋迦牟尼圓寂 前留下的那幾句話，
你可能會沉默很久。
 
因為他臨走時，沒有談神通，
沒有談來世，
沒有讓人瘋狂膜拜自己。
 
他只是平靜地告訴世人：
「世間一切，都會消散。」
 
——這句話，像一把刀，
後來扎進了無數人的後半生。
 
你拼命想留住的人，會離開。
你拼命想抓住的錢，會流走。
你以為不會變的感情，會變。
你以為永遠年輕的身體，會老。
連你今天的痛苦，明天都會淡掉。
 
原來人生最痛的，
從來不是失去，
而是我們總以為自己不會失去。
 
釋迦牟尼在圓寂前，弟子們全都哭了。
有人跪在地上崩潰，
有人無法接受佛陀離開，
甚至有人覺得，天都塌了。
 
可釋迦牟尼沒有安慰他們。
他只是緩緩說：
「不要依賴任何人，
要以自己為燈。」
 
很多人年輕時不懂這句話。
總覺得，
有人愛自己，人生才有意義；
有人陪著，夜晚才不會孤獨；
有人撐腰，才敢面對世界。
 
可後來你會發現：
 
父母會老。
愛人會變。
朋友會散。
孩子會長大離開。
這個世界上，沒有誰能陪你走完全程。
 
最後那個真正能救你的，
只有你自己清醒的內心。
 
佛陀還說：
「懶惰的人，像已經死去。」
 
這句話特別狠。
因為人最大的可怕，
不是窮，
不是失敗，
而是明明活著，卻已經沒有靈魂。
 
每天重複麻木的生活，
嘴裡抱怨，
心裡焦慮，
卻始終不願改變。
 
很多人不是輸給了命運，
而是輸給了「等以後」。
 
等有錢了再快樂。
等不忙了再陪家人。
等穩定了再開始夢想。
等情緒好了再認真生活。
 
可佛早就告訴過眾生：
 
人生無常。
沒有人知道明天和意外誰先來。
 
所以真正厲害的人，
從來不是擁有很多的人，
而是清醒活著的人。
 
釋迦牟尼圓寂前最後的意思，其實很簡單：
 
不要執著。
不要貪戀。
不要沉迷虛幻。
學會看透，學會放下，學會珍惜當下。
 
因為你終有一天會明白：
 
房子再大，睡不過三尺。
車子再貴，也只是代步。
名氣再高，也敵不過生老病死。
 
人這一生，
真正重要的，
不過是：
 
有一個健康的身體；
有一顆安靜的心；
有能力愛人；
也有能力獨處。
 
佛陀離開這個世界時，
沒有驚天動地。
他只是安靜地躺在兩棵娑羅樹之間。
 
可兩千多年後，
無數人走過半生，
吃過苦，受過傷，見過人情冷暖後，
才終於讀懂：
 
原來佛說的，從來不是宗教。
而是人生。
 
人活到最後，拼的不是財富，
不是輸贏，
而是內心有沒有平靜。
 
當你不再執著別人愛不愛你，

永遠懷念我最敬愛的老哥
博彰哥，聽到您離世的消息，心裡真的有萬分的不捨與悲痛。
我們兩家的緣分深厚,在我的心中，您一直都是極其優秀、懸壺濟世的醫生，是家族的驕傲。
回想起我讀初中的那幾年，您北上就讀台北醫學院，寄住在我們家。那段同住的時光，是我人生中珍貴又深刻的記憶。我到現在都還清晰地記得，初中時您帶著我去電影院看的電影《星星．月亮．太陽》，那一幕幕畫面，至今都還深深印在我的腦海中；後來我升上高中，您總是耐心地教授我功課。
從小到大，您就是我最尊敬、最仰慕的老哥。您頭腦聰穎、學識淵博，人品更是高尚無瑕。看著前年您回台灣時，我們一起吃飯留下的合照，慶幸那時候我們有好好見上一面。
雖然明白這是人生必經的謝幕之路，但看著照片，心裡依然寫滿了對您的思念。博彰哥，謝謝您帶給我生命中這麼多美好的引領。
願您一路好走，安息主懷。

我非常shock.前兩個星期他有line給我聊到他說老了要天天心情愉快。我說老哥是股票高手天天賺錢天天快樂可以活到120.

你爸爸從小就是我最尊敬最仰慕的老哥頭腦好.讀書好.人品好。唉。沒辦法這是人生必走之路.
farewell my brother

I will always remember Dr. Chen as a very caring Doctor who was always concerned about his patients. My wife, myself, and mother in law were patients of his when he had his family medical practice in Montebello, California. He took care of us despite us not always having the proper insurance. He still carried on with his medical practice in spite of losing his beloved wife Keiko some years ago.....his sister too who helped him at his office. He also was a dedicated believer in Nichiren Buddhism. It was always great to see him at the SGI-USA Community Center. We were so saddened to hear of his passing. I understand that he passed away after talking a exercise walk through a local shopping mall. He went back to his car, Sat down, and peacefully transitioned on. Good for you Dr.Chen......you did it you're way!!!  We will never forget you my dear friend. Rest for now, See you in the next life time. Always having you in our prayers. NMRK

Dear Chen’s Family,

Please accept our deepest condolences to the loss of your loved one. May God comforts you and your family with peace and love during this difficult time. We believe that Dr. Chen is in a better place now with no tears, pain and sickness. Dr. Chen always kindly stopped by and chatted with me while I was watering lawn in front of my house.  We often shared each other about family, life in Taiwan, and even politics. That is a wonderful memory for us  to keep and we really miss him.

博彰兄是高才生，成績優秀 ，人品端正，重友不好色，真是好同窗。他常電話和我聊天，他去Boston  大女家住了將近一個月回來加州非常高興。星期三回來，隔週二就打電話给我展（典）。。談了約八九分鐘。因為我兒子快從聖地亞哥回來，我們只好中斷。隔天週三下午三點前後，我打電話給他四次都打不通。再六天後10pm06才收到他女兒的通知。我馬上打電話給他女兒，可惜太晚了，她沒接。讓我整夜睡不著覺。次日上午我才和Emily連絡上，才知道那時候已經出事了。啊！！！ 大家都上年紀了，先走後走，都要走！懷念我們的老朋友，老同𥦬，大家保重，博彰兄的家人保重！Emily 說；預定7月27日要在Whittier 辧殯禮，希望大家能参加。隔幾天會再通知。

We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear friend, Dr. Po Chen

Our friendship began in medical school and spanned many decades. Throughout those years, Po was a man of exceptional talent, unwavering integrity, and genuine kindness. He touched the lives of countless people through his wisdom, compassion, and generous spirit. We will always remember him not only as an outstanding physician and scholar, but also as a loyal friend whose character earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

His sudden departure is a profound loss to us and to the many lives he touched. Although words cannot ease the sorrow of such an unexpected loss, we hope that the memories of his remarkable life and the love of family and friends will bring comfort in the days ahead.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May you find strength, peace, and solace, and may the cherished memories of Bo remain a lasting source of comfort.

So many family gatherings.. he loved being around his children and grandchildren !

We celebrated his birthdays together with the family.. he loved being with his family!

He loved playing with the kids at home ..

He was the best grandfather I could ever wish for my kids.  He was always there and did so much for them.  He was also a wonderful father figure to me as his son-in-law.  Always so thoughtful.  I’m so grateful that I got to spend so much time with him.  I miss him dearly.

I remember that my Dad was always so faithful to mom when she was alive and even after her death. He would visit her frequently at Rose Hills.
