She was a 1968 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. During her time at UCLA, she met the love of her life, Mark Graham, on the steps of the Theta Chi fraternity house during a beer bust. As her husband, Mark, would say, “They have been drinking and dancing ever since.” They enjoyed many UCLA alumni events and football games at the Rose Bowl.
After graduation, Pat moved back to Downey, where she and Mark married in 1971. They purchased a home and welcomed their only son, Brandon, in 1981.
Pat enjoyed working for the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years before retiring in 2008.
Pat, Mark, and Brandon moved to Fullerton, California in 1993 so that Brandon could attend Fairmont Junior High and Troy High School. In Fullerton, Pat and Mark found a wonderful group of lifelong friends that met and socialized on a regular basis, especially on Fridays, infamously referred to as TGIF parties.
Pat loved to travel and enjoyed her annual trips with her painting friends to England. She also loved Tuscany, where she and Mark visited twice. One highlight was getting in the center of the famous Palio di Siena horse race.
Pat loved maintaining her picturesque garden, painting, and enjoying wine with her friends on her patio. You could always find Pat and her friends on the dance floor listening to classic rock, especially The Answer, their favorite band.
Pat loved a good time, having fun, and enjoying life. Some of the best times were hosting summer concert parties every Wednesday. Everyone was welcome – the more the merrier.
She was a loving wife and doting mother. Pat is survived by her beloved son, Brandon, his wife, Samantha, and their daughter, Ella.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on July 22, 2023 at Rose Hills in Whittier. The family welcomes everyone to celebrate a life well-lived at The Graham residence in Fullerton immediately following the service. Brandon can be reached at (714) 390-9377.
