Patricia Lou Batten Chronis of Canyon Lake, California, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born on June 17, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, Pat lived a life marked by love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She was known for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, infectious laugh, and unwavering support of those she loved. Whether through a kind word, a welcoming home, or a helping hand, she touched the lives of many and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Pat found great joy in reading, traveling, spending time with her many friends, attending musical theater performances, celebrating her roots as a third-generation native Californian, and, of course, cheering on her beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. She especially cherished time spent with her family and took immense pride in the accomplishments and happiness of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Batten (Fayza) of Stanton, California; her daughters, Shawn Held (Duane) of West Seneca, New York, and Colleen Crane (Ken) of San Juan Capistrano, California; her daughter-in-law, Kelly Batten; her beloved grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Nicole, Nathan, Charlie, and Courtney; and her treasured great-grandson, Levi Jack, her sister Judy Straup, and many adored nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, Jack Batten Jr.; her second husband, George Chronis, whose love and companionship brought her great happiness during their five years together; her beloved son, Gregory Batten; and her two adored grandchildren, Olivia and Tommy Batten, and sisters, Janice Rhame, Linda and Vicky Veach.
Those who knew Pat will remember her compassion, grace, strength, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she treasured and in the countless lives she enriched through her kindness, generosity, and friendship.
A service celebrating Pat's extraordinary life will be held on July 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Hillside Chapel.
Though deeply missed, she will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
"Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy."
