Oscar was a helicopter mechanic and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably in the US Air Force and Air National Guard, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. For his service, he earned several Air Force medals and awards. While stationed in Clark Air Force Base, he met the love of his life, Rowena in Manila Philippines.
His experience in the Air Force played a significant role in his life. As a Helicopter Mechanic, he developed a passion for collecting and drag racing HOT RODS, became an aircraft and auto mechanic and owned an automotive shop. He was the filipino MacGyver of the family and could fix anything, but in a way "ONLY OSCAR" could.
Oscar had so much to live for and loved immensely. He enjoyed a good laugh, especially at himself. He was a jokester at heart and was sure to make you laugh uncontrollably.
He had an inherent love for playing the piano and music. He was passionate about cars and his Hot Rods. He found pure joy when he traveled and drove on long road trips, played karaoke, off-roading ATV’s, ballroom dancing, dance instructing, golfing, and being a DJ for his community gatherings.
His greatest devotion was to his wife Rowena, his daughters Kathleen, Desiree and Scarlet, family, friends and being a Lolo to his grandkids. Oscar’s lifelong pursuit of Joy, Laughter, and Happiness wIll stay with us forever.
