

Nelly was born July 31, 1928, in Las Cruces, Las Villas, Cuba, daughter of Manuel de Jesus Ventura Camps and Olimpia Amparo Castro Matias.
Nelly met the love of her life Rafael Galindo and they were married December 19, 1953.
On November 4, 1960, together with her husband, along with their toddler daughter, Isel Victoria and Jose Ernesto, journeyed to the United States, specifically California, to escape the Castro communist regime and begin a new life. Nelly helped in supporting the family working as a shoe designer, and for over 15 years served as a foster parent to five developmentally disabled children, along with serving as a supportive partner in her husband’s successful real estate company.
Nelly was preceded in death by her husband, Rafael, three siblings Victor Camps, Elsa Camps and Rolando Camps; and her first born grandson Jose Rodriguez Jr.
Nelly enjoyed traveling with her husband of over 50 years; she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many extended family and friends, she enjoyed hosting family gatherings and took great pride in serving up traditional Cuban meals. Nelly was the matriarch that united the family, and served as a role model to all in respects to work ethic, compassion and encouraging all to challenge themselves and reach for those goals they set.
Nelly is survived by two sons and two daughter-in laws, Jose Ernestro Rodriguez (Dolores) of Arizona, Alexis Galindo (Xiomara) of Huntington Beach; one daughter Isel Victoria Taylor of Long Beach; seven grandchildren Manuel and Rafael Rodriguez, Daniel and Gabriel Taylor, Maximiliano, Gianna and Sofia Galindo; ten great grandchildren Fabian, Anthony and Damian Rodriguez, Keenan, Manya and Melina Rodriguez, Bryce and Reagan Rodriguez, and Amelia and Theo Taylor; twelve great-great grandchildren Roland, Abigail and Logan Rodriguez, Emily, Levi, Nathan and Erhan Rodriguez, Addison, Blake and Hallie Rodriguez, Harlynn and Benelli Rodriguez. She also leaves many other extended family members and friends who will sadly miss her and cherish her memory.

Funeral Mass - Friday July 16, 2021 at 10:00 am
