To say that Michael had an undeniable and unwavering positive attitude would be a massive understatement. He was the type of person who would just light up any room he walked into. Despite whatever life threw at him he just kept smiling and staying positive, just purely inspirational to anyone who was around him. He will surely be missed and the memories we have all had with him will never be forgotten. Rest Easy Michael

Dearest Pech family,

It is with heartache and pain that I write this note to you. I have beautiful, fond memories of our handsome and intelligent Michael, both from the hospital and the numerous times we saw him in our clinic.  Michael has a special place in my heart, as I watched him to continue fighting despite setbacks and increasing number of challenges that he faced. He took each with a grace and ease, always downplaying the issue, pretending that nothing is a big deal. He had an uncanny ability to change the subject from himself to me or my family. I would say: I'm so sorry, Michael. I can't believe this is happening to you..." He would smile and shrug his shoulders: "It's fine! Whatever! So... How's your daughter doing? Graduate from High School yet? What does she want to be?..." He never allowed the disease or it's complications take over his kind heart. I enjoyed our conversations, even when it was brief. His heart and soul were big, welcoming each of us with his gentle smile. What a handsome young man, what a brave soul. He will never be forgotten. Those of us who knew him learned from him, and we will treasure our memories. My love to all of you. Please come and visit when you can, anytime you find yourselves near us. I fondly remember Michael from the YMCA, where I had the pleasure of providing after-school care. Not only was he a part of the program, but he also befriended both of my sons. Michael stood out as a well-behaved, intelligent, and humorous  boy - a true 'boys' boy' at heart. Even in moments when guidance was needed, he had a way of making me laugh. Learning about his passing was truly saddening, but I hope that everyone is comforted in knowing he's no longer in pain. We will continue to keep the family in prayer.
