Marie Ann Barron

She is survived by her only son, Ronald Frank Barron and granddaughter, Samantha Endara; her Niece, Nephew and loving friends.

Her parents, Jacob Zeiler and Elizabeth Monheiser Zeiler immigrated to America through Ellis Island, and on January 21, 1928, Marie was born in the historical town of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Marie was the 6th of 7 children, she had 3 Brothers and 3 Sisters.

From growing up in the depression and being placed into the St. Clara’s Orphanage after the death of her Mother Elizabeth at the age of 10, and only attending school to the 9th grade, she was proven to be a survivor. Her strong spirit never faltered, and at the age of 15, she got a job at the “National Biscuit Company” in Denver, Colorado as a cracker packer. She jokingly would brag she had worked at “NBC”.

She later moved to California in 1945, at the age of 17. She secured a job with Catalonia Swimwear Co as a seamstress, this is where she found she had a knack for sewing and an eye for design. In 1947 at the age of 19, she had her only son Ronald together with then husband Frank E. Barron.

A hard worker with a vision and talent, she opened a dress shop in Glass Hill Park across from Dodger Stadium in 1960. With a love for design and drafting, she ventured out in 1965 to open “M Barron Draperies” that focused mainly on fine drapery. Her small studio was located in the city of Santa Fe Springs, and here is where she got noticed and was commissioned to do the drapery for the UCLA girls’ dormitories.

In 1970, her success launched her to open “M Barron Interiors” with a large Design Studio in the city of Whittier. Along with fine custom drapery and interior designing, she now had a retail furniture location.

Proud of her German heritage, her drive kept to a high quality and integrity in the things she produced, making her popular with high-end clients to include Jack Lord and the Rockefeller’s.

She was very proud of buying a lovely home in Gold Beach Oregon sight unseen and the purchase of the River Village Mobile Park.

She enjoyed keeping herself beautifully presentable, loved the Music of Cuba and “La Bamba”. Traveling was also had as she went as far as Spain, France and her loved Germany. Always enjoyed good food and company. This woman believed and loved herself enough to grow and be the Beautiful successful business Woman she was, and she was a

virtue to encounter.
