Maria Jesus Martinez

Maria Jesus Martinez, age 88, of Los Angeles, California, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024. Maria was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico and spent her early youth growing up in Mexico City, DF. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 17.

She is survived by her husband Alfredo Martinez and her children, Alfred, Mary, and Anthony; as well as her grandchildren, Abby and Bryan.

Maria was beloved by everyone who met her. She was thought of highly by the girls she interacted with during her 27 year role as a maintenance worker at Marymount High School. She is remembered as a very sweet and caring individual who always had a smile and positive words for them and those who knew her. In her everyday life she went beyond expectations to help others and never asked for anything in return. Her kindness and heart were incomparable.

She came from nothing and worked hard to build up and create a better life for her children and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed.

A visitation in chapel for Maria will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Rose Hill,4522 Browne Ave,Los Angeles.

Maria will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601; Garden of Commemoration; Gate: 1, Section: 26, Lot: 7243, Grave: 3.
