Maria Magallanes, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2026 at the age of 79.
Born in Tepic, Nayarit Mexico on December 20th, 1946. Maria moved to Los Angeles, California in 1965. She spent the last 35 years as a resident of Whittier, California. Maria will be remembered as an incredibly strong, hardworking, and unforgettable woman.
Maria was truly one of a kind. She was feisty and funny, with a golden heart. Her amazing personality and presence could fill a room. Her house was always open to friends and family in need.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, and if you knew her you knew her excitement for the casinos! Most of all she loved spending time with family and her parrot Coco. Her children, grand children and great-grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. She was the person her family could always count on, especially for a wonderful meal or a fresh mango off her tree!
Maria is survived by her loving husband, Juvenal Magallanes, children, Michelle (Jeff) Cutri, Cesar Magallanes, Julie Magallanes, and Cynthia (Joseph) Ciuro, 11 grandchildren,
Brianna, Jazmine, Kristen, Ashley, Nicolas, Monique, Makenna, Mia, Celeste, Maya, Cesar and 4 great grandchildren, Luigiano, Juliano, Santiano, and Mialani
Mom, this is not goodbye. It is simply “see you later.” You will forever be our strength, our home, and our angel watching over us.
We will love and miss you for the rest of our lives.
