Our Grandmother was born on November the 3rd, 1937 to Frances and Antonio Cadena in the city of Los Angeles, California. Her father was a carpenter, her mother a seamstress, her sister Elisa and her were raised in a loving home and had many memories spent with their cousins, aunts and uncles. Our Grandmother learned how to shoot a rifle with Papa when they went hunting for rabbits and at home with her mom she learned how to cook and sew. In her teen years she loved dancing to her 50’s music, and being involved in her Cheaterette club. At the age of 18 she met our grandfather Robert Borunda, they were inseparable for almost 50 years. They enjoyed their young life, cruising around and riding on the motorcycle. Besides raising her children: Maggie, Diana, Robert Mario and Alex, she enjoyed her hobbies some of which were crafts, spending time in her garden, loving her animals and listening to her birds. As the years passed her heart had been saddened over the loss of loved ones but was comforted by the love of our dear Aunt Norma. Our father, Robert Mario and mother, Catherine, blessed her with four grandchildren: Ann, Roberta, Christina and Cathy. She rejoiced in the celebration of Ann’s marriage to Manuel and the birth of her great grandchildren; Xandria and Ayden continued to put a smile upon her face. She told us that she had felt that God had given her a feeling of hope. We know that it was our Grandmother’s faith that kept her strong and gave her peace in her spirit. At the age of 72, our grandmother went to be with the Lord while she was at home surrounded by her loved ones.
