He was born in Torrance, CA on September 22, 1988, son of the late Sharon Marion. He is survived by his brothers Ronnie, Daniel, Samuel, their spouses, numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
Mannie graduated from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California in 2006. After high school Mannie started waiting tables at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in Long Beach, CA where he would meet his soon to be girlfriend of over ten years, Gina Castleberry. Mannie was not Gina's original waiter, but after seeing her he quickly interjected himself for her attention. Mannie and Gina loved fine dining, traveling, and being the best of friends: they loved each other deeply.
Shortly after Roscoe's, Mannie got his Class A License and began working as a driver for an equipment rental company. From there, Mannie went to work for SOS Crane out of Long Beach where he learned to operate stinger/boom truck cranes. Mannie then moved to Benson Crane where he would meet his good friend, Kyle Ankey.
It was at Benson Crane that Mannie attracted the eyes of Crane Rental Service. Crane Rental Service was able to assist Mannie in becoming a member of The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 12. Mannie spent the next five years as a valued and respected member of the crane rental family. Mannie's willingness to continuously learn and always go the extra mile earned him a great reputation with his peers, union brothers and management.
With the help and guidance of his mother's best friend, Chryste Fisher, In 2014, Mannie purchased his first piece of property in Long Beach, CA. He would later go on to purchase and personally manage two more duplex investment properties in Long Beach. Mannie put himself in a position to purchase a third duplex in the beginning of 2021.
Mannie was very ambitious in teaching himself how to swing trade in the stock market. He was very influential with this knowledge to his childhood friends Aaron Griffin, Tony Murphy, and Desi Perez.
Mannie enjoyed playing Call of Duty with his brother Sam. They would absolutely slay lobbies for countless hours on end. They would even play Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare at times.
Mannie loved Star Wars, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Lord of The Rings. He loved to read. More recently, he developed a love for audio books with whom he would discuss in great lengths with his best friend David Bunch.
Mannie developed a deep love for coffee with whom he shared this passion with his good friend Daniel Wilder.
Mannie would meet his Girlfriend, Jericah Johnson, at Knott's Soak City. They were immediately attracted to each other. They enjoyed playing rummy, pick-up sticks, and uno. They also shared a profound proclivity for animated movies. Recently their relationship had taken a more serious turn with much potential. Mannie and Jericah loved each other very much.
Mannie's life was taken way too soon and we are here to remember him as he was; loyal, friendly, funny and always there to help.
