On February 18th my mother passed at her Assisted Living Apartment at Estancia Del Sol in Corona, CA.  She was surrounded by her family and friends throughout her final weekend and is now resting peacefully with my father, who she missed dearly.  

The last 9 months have been challenging for my mother, starting with a fall in May and resulting in multiple hospital stays.  During this time Chris, Sheridi and I discovered the many ailments she was diagnosed with and did not want to tell us about, so she would not burden us with the information and worry about her.  

We all tried our best to do everything we could to help her, as this was our opportunity to take care of her.  My mother did not totally understand the severity of her conditions.  She dutifully listened to our advice with blind faith that we were recommending the best treatment options for her, including dialysis.  

My Mother always put my Father, Chris and I first over everything else in her life.  She supported Chris and I in all of our interests which landed us both in non-traditional professional careers.  Growing up, she was always involved with our school activities, sporting events and Scouting.  

It was difficult on everyone to see her health decline and have to make decisions on her behalf.  My mother made it clear that she did not want to go back to the hospital, and with her body finally succumbing to her illnesses, hospice care was our best option to keep her comfortable and have the opportunity for her to be surrounded by the people she loved most in her new home.

My mother felt the love of all her family and friends and knew she made a difference in everyone’s lives.  She passed in peace knowing we would all be ok and that she did not have to worry about any of us.

Thank you to the entire staff at Estancia Del Sol for taking such good care of her and to everyone who made a visit, called and messaged us during her stay.
