

Laurence Roaul Collins of Carson, CA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the age of 95. He passed away peacefully of natural causes surrounded by family and friends. He spent his last 10 months at Ocean Breeze Care Home in Lomita where he received incredible compassionate care for which the family is eternally grateful.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Anna Pauline Collins; and the families of children Diane Collins, Barbara Collins, Sherrie James, Michael Woods, Sandra Magana, Yvette Robertson and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews and a multitude of loving friends.
He was born on September 21, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa but lived the majority of his adult life in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in English and a minor in business. He worked in the international freight forwarding industry for 30 years until his retirement in 2002 at the age of 75.
Laurence married his first wife, Beverley Lucille in 1947, and remained married for 40 years until her passing in 1987. They had three children, Laurence Roaul Jr., Michael Kenneth, and Steven Earl. He married his second wife of 30 years, Anna Pauline, in 1992, and lived the remainder of his life with her in Carson, CA.
He will be remembered by all for his optimistic outlook on life, his sense of humor, and most of all his love of the performing arts. He spent many years performing in musical and acting groups that played at many senior homes and facilities in and around Los Angeles. He also performed in various dance venues, and taught country western line dancing.
He was cremated and his remains were placed at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA. along with other family members.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of San Pedro 731 S Averill Ave, San Pedro, CA 90732, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00am.
