Kelly Elizabeth Mortellaro

Born and raised in La Mirada, California, Kelly was a gifted chef and a devoted connoisseur of fine cuisine. She fulfilled her aspirations by attending the Art Institute of California, where she earned a degree in culinary arts and graduated with honors in 2005. Kelly brought both exceptional skill and heartfelt dedication to her role as a chef at the Knothole Club at Angel Stadium, where she spent eight years delighting fans and colleagues alike with her culinary creations.

Subsequently, Kelly transitioned into a leadership role as a store manager at Lane Bryant. Her calm demeanor, compassionate spirit, and unwavering professionalism made her a treasured colleague and friend to many.

Kelly found deep joy in life’s simple pleasures. She adored cats and plants, lovingly nurturing each one, with her beloved feline companion, Peaches, always close by. She found comfort in quiet days at home,

exploring new coffee spots, and watching her favorite TLC programs such as Sister Wives.

Kelly and her cousin Jessica remained close throughout their lives. They lived together for a time and shared many treasured memories—from watching I Love Lucy together in their youth to attending numerous concerts by their favorite bands, HomeGrown and Unwritten Law.

Kelly embraced life with an adventurous spirit. She loved attending soccer games and hiking the Northern California coastal redwoods with her constant and closest friend Ilana – always on the lookout for the elusive “Little Bigfoot,” whom they believed was real, just much smaller than most imagined.

Kelly found a deep and joyful love with James, her soulmate. Together, they created beautiful memories—trying new foods, sharing quiet moments, and going whale watching, one of her favorite adventures. He brought a sense of peace and happiness into her life that she had long deserved.

Kelly is survived by her loving parents, Laurie and Paul Mortellaro; her devoted brother, Kevin—the protective older brother who once gave her pepper spray "just in case," and who she always affectionately called "Bro"—as well as a wide circle of family and friends who held her in the highest regard.

Adored by all who had the privilege of knowing her, Kelly was a kind and gentle soul, full of warmth, humor, and curiosity. No unkind word was ever spoken about her—only admiration, respect, and deep affection. Her memory will forever be held in our hearts.
