Julia Faye Baker (Julie) age 75 of La Mirada, CA, passed away on Monday Jan. 7th 2013, from complications of CHF and diabetes. Julie was surrounded by her family; her two sons Rich and Dave, along with their wives Denise and Shawna and Julie's 8 grandchildren. Grandma Julie died very peacefully and even had a huge smile on her face.
Julie was born on August 17th 1937, to John and Margaret Baker. After high school Julie went to nursing school and became an RN. She spent over 40 years as an RN, spending the last 30 years as an Administrator at Kaiser Permanente where she retired in 1995. She spent the majority her life, whether at work or at home taking care of people. She had an infectious personality and would spark up a conversation with anybody and everybody, just to see how their day was going.
Julie loved to read, watch TV, go to the movies and she especially loved to sew and go shopping. There wasn't a mall within 50 miles that didn't have her footprints all over it, and no one close to her had to wait long for a special Grandma Julie garment personally sewn by her.
Her all time favorite thing to do though was to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids. She had a total of 8, not counting all the other kids that loved her and called her Grandma. Grandma Julie loved to spoil her grandkids and would constantly shower them with gifts or sew them something personalized.
Grandma Julie was truly the most amazing, loving, caring and warm hearted person you would have ever meet. Truly a one of a kind. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Even though we will miss her smile, her hearty laugh and her never ending kindness and love, we know Julie is finally healthy and at peace. Her life long devotion to her savior Jesus Christ, has undoubtedly landed her into heaven where she can reunite with her mother and father along with countless friends.
God Bless you Julia Faye Baker, you will be missed and we will forever be blessed by just knowing you!
