Jorge Orihuela, age 87, of Yorba Linda, California passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025. He was a devoted husband to Sandra, a caring father to his son, Carlos, and loving grandfather to Catherine and Matthew.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jorge moved to the United States after military school to attend the University of Michigan, moving in the early 1960s to Los Angeles. After retiring from a long and rewarding career at Toyota, he volunteered for many years at a hospital close to their home in Yorba Linda.
Jorge loved to travel with Sandy and spend time with his grandkids, and was happiest in the flow of their affection at family dinners and celebrations. His cheerful, caring nature and sincere wish to help those around him were ever-present, and deeply appreciated by all (particularly an ever-hungry Corgi named Spencer).
Jorge was preceded in death by Sandra, and by his brother, Luis. He is survived by Carlos, Catherine, Matthew and daughter-in-law Cindy, his sister Maria Virginia Orihuela de Etcheverri and sister-in-law Noemi Orihuela, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family who so loved their time spent with him.
If Jorge were here, he would surely raise a glass and affably toast us as he did in life, with a hearty “Salud, dinero y amor!”.
