I met James in the early 1950s when he lived with his brother Ken on my street.  We played catch in the street and became friends.  Jim asked me to introduce him to my aunt Pat which I did.  They dated and were subsequently married in my parents living room. Their home was a garage but in a short time, they moved to an apartment on our street.  We were close family thereafter.  Glory to God!   Harold.

Jim was a good and kind man.  He cared deeply about his family, his friends, and his neighbors, and he always made you feel welcome.  He was a hard worker, and he strove to make a difference in the neighborhood.  He was a true neighbor, in the Gospel sense, and he exemplified Christ's teaching to do unto others as you would have others do unto you.  Jim will be missed very much.

I remember when I was little and Uncle Jimmy was changing a tire on his truck that was parked in front of his house. When I came outside of the house and saw this I was concerned that he would hurt himself based on how big that tire was. Well,..I found out that day that I didn't know half of the man that he was,but through time I learned. He was a very strong man who did what he had to do for his family. He even told me back then don't get in the habit of waiting for people to do things for you,...learn to do things for yourself! He explained to me how he would loose money sitting around waiting on someone to come help him with his truck,..and after everything was said and done he would still have to pay them! I heard him then but I here him even better now.  Some people will affect your life in a very positive way and some people will just affect your life,..period. I thank God he affected my life in a positive way! He used to always smile when he saw me,..of course I was little then but at least I knew I wasn't in trouble when I saw him. The last time I saw him he gave me the same smile,..I must really be a great dude or he just loves his family! Maybe its a little of both,...whatever it is he will forever be loved! 

Thank you Uncle Jimmy  for all your contributions to the family. Thank you for staying around long enough to be our oldest member we love you and we are great full for your presence in all of our lives love Jerry Willard Kamela Willard and family. 

I had gone to the Hanson home looking for Keith one day.  He wasn't there, but Mr. Hanson said he would be back shortly.  Mr. Hanson was rebuilding a car engine in his garage and asked if I could help him while I was waiting for Keith to return.  I said I would help and before I knew it he had me turning the wrenches while he was directing me on what was needed to be done.  Several hours passed by and Keith didn't reappear,  but I was blessed with the wisdom, fellowship and the love of Christ that Mr. Hanson shared with me that day.   Mr. Hanson,  thank you for sharing the example of a Christ centered man with me and others. 

'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' ~ Matthew 25:23   

My papa literally was one of the greatest men I've ever known.  Kind hearted, loving, humble.  Definitely going to miss you here but I know your mother is going to be happy to see you. Fought the  good fight.  Rest easy grandpa.

What a blessing to have had thee best father God has ever made! I am soo greatful for what seemed to be a brief moment of time.  No matter how many questions I had my father ALWAYS, would patiently respond with the answer that I needed to hear. I will miss all the projects that we worked on together.  I will miss working and driving those disel trucks together.  How you would tell me, "work smarter not harder!" Learn to get paid for what you know,  not for how much work that you do!" I now know that more is caught than taught.  My father was a living example of how to selflessly serve! My father was always willing to help someone else when they needed it. God give me wisdom,  knowledge,  favor, and grace to impact peoples lives like my father did!

Papa, we will all miss you so much! We will "keep on truckin" and we will never forget what you taught us and will do our best to keep the banner held high and move forward!
