

James Edward Casey was born in Milford Delaware to James Elliott and Ruth Casey. He had two sisters, Ruth (deceased) and Beulah. The Casey Clan established roots in the small community of Claymont Delaware. Eventually having a street named after the family “Casey Lane” In June of 1957 James joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in February of 1961. In November of 1966 James became a Freemason. James owned a service station and was a master auto mechanic. He loved his cars and could fix any car. James married Celestina Rosemary and fathered three boys, James Elliott Casey (deceased 1982), Michael Patrick Casey, and Peter Joseph Casey. James and Celestina became foster parents to Drew and Pam. After selling his service station he worked for Sun Oil Company and retired after 33 years. James was a Den Father and Scout Master. In April of 1982 James oldest son lost his three year battle with Cancer and passed. In August of 1983 James and Celestina divorced. James enjoyed playing golf and loved the Beetles. His son Michael moved to the Phillipines, married Tating, has two sons Cherb and Joseph. Michael and Tating have established the Nehemiah House (Home for sexually abused girls ages 7-18). His son Peter moved to California and is a Lieutenant with the Los Angeles Police Department. James moved to Boothwyn PA and spent his time with his good friend Dawn Winder. In January 2010 James moved in with his son Peter, James Madock and Celestina, to Whittier Ca. In September of 2012, his health had declined and he received home hospice care (Evergreen Home Hospice Care). On November 5, 2012 he lost his battle with cancer with his sons, ex-wife, and son-in-law by his side and listening to the Beetles greatest hits.
Arrangements under the direction of Rose Hills Company, Whittier, CA. Service will be on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 3:00 pm, Rainbow Chapel (Gate 17). There will be a reception immediately following the service in the Rose Hills Reception Hall.
