

Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at CSU Northridge where he had a teaching career spanning 50 years
from 1968. He also spent a year as Department Chair. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in
Engineering from UCLA. He received the Engineering Merit Award in 1990, Outstanding Engineering
Achievement Merit Award in 2002, and Distinguished Engineering Educator Award in 2008.
Professor Hashimoto has also trained many players in table tennis starting with his time at UCLA, then
Hollywood Table Tennis Club and later teaching table tennis classes at Santa Monica College. His
training helped to produce many high level players. He also helped run table tennis tournaments at
Santa Monica College for over 30 years and was in charge of producing the draws for the table tennis
Nationals and Open tournaments for many years. Later on he also acted as a regional director for the
USATT and was inducted into the California Hall of fame for Table Tennis. He loved teaching and would
offer playing tips to almost anyone who asked.
He leaves behind a loving wife, Margaret, a brother Toji, sisters Midee and Kimiko, and nieces Fuyumi
and Holly Ann.
Funeral services are on Monday, April 18th from 3pm‐4pm at the Hillside Chapel at Rose Hills Mortuary
and Cemetery, 3888 S. Workman Mill Rd., Whittier, CA 90608.
