Guadalupe Eva Quijada, 82, began her heavenly journey, peacefully in her home in Chino Hills, CA, on the early morning of Friday, March 27th, 2020. Although, we are heartbroken that she is no longer with us to hear her voice, recieve a 4am phone call or share a loving embrace, we still find happiness in the lifetime of memories that she left us with.
She was born on October 26, 1937 in Whittier, California to Manuel and Maria Quijada. She came from a family of hard-working ranchers in the area now known as Rose Hills. At an early age she lost her mother and learned how fragile life was and to value every moment of her time on earth.
Lupe was a graduate of Whittier High School and received a reward for perfect attendance for her 12 years of schooling. Lupe started her work career working various jobs. Her final job as a school bus driver was the one she was most proud of. In addition to providing transportation to many student events, she also provided transportation for events at the 1984 Olympics. She had a fun loving spirt and would love to see the expression on people faces as she told them of being a stripper in her younger day; actually she was a wiener stripper at the Oscar Meyer plant. Her adventures included 3 jumps as a sky diver.
Lupe had the undeniable ability to instantly make an impression on everyone that she met. She was someone with absolute sincerity and engagement that could turn every first encounter into a potentially lifelong friendship. She was welcoming and to everyone who came to her home she would tell them “The doors are always open and this is your house.” Her loyal companions, “Her girls” Domino and Brandy would also greet you at the door
She shared her life with us and that gift has made us all the better. Her indelible impact has made impressions on everyone that she came into contact with and her love for her family was undeniable. She lived a happy and fruitful life, raising a family to know the importance of love and faith. She understood that instilling the values of love and faith is the greatest legacy that she could impart to others. Through her wisdom she will continue to live on.
During her illness, Lupe's strength and determination was undeniable. She said it many times, she was not a quitter and would fight until God called her home. This was exactly what she did. In addition to being strong, she told everyone around her to also be strong. "you take care of you and I'll take care of me". Every person was her friend and she genuinely loved everyone. We will miss the "I love you, I love you, I love you" and "I'm with you heart and soul" forever.
We will miss her here on earth but we take comfort knowing she is rejoicing in heaven with the love of her life her husband, Carlos Quijada (deceased).
