Gilbert M. Ramirez

He was born on March 16, 1932, in Norwalk, California, and grew up in Bellflower before

later settling in Paramount, where he spent the majority of his life.

Gilbert was a hardworking and dedicated man from a young age. He attended Bellflower

grammar school and began high school at Excelsior High, but left during his sophomore year

to help support his family by working in the fields. Through determination and a desire for a

better life, he transitioned into work as a truck driver, first in waste management and later

delivering plumbing supplies, where he eventually worked in the warehouse until his

retirement at age 60.

He was married to his beloved wife, Nellie M. Ramirez, for 74 years—a remarkable

testament to love, commitment, and partnership.

Gilbert is survived by his daughters Gloria, Linda, and Marylou; his grandchildren Andrew,

Laura, Jill, Rich, Amber, Ed, and Cecilia; and his great-grandchildren Jose, Liam, and Regan.

He was known as a hardworking man, a devoted husband and father, and someone who

would do anything for anyone. He was the person everyone turned to for help—always

willing to fix anything, lend a hand, or simply listen. He had a gift for drawing and could

sketch anything he saw, reflecting both his creativity and attention to detail.

Gilbert built a life centered on family, hard work, and providing for those he loved. He and

Nellie purchased their home in Paramount early in their marriage, where they raised their

family and created a lifetime of memories.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his strength, generosity, and

unwavering love for his family.

Services will be held on Monday, April 6th at 11:00 AM at Rose Hills Memorial Park in

Whittier, California.

Our family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of God, reunited

with loved ones who have gone before him.
