Passed Away in Alhambra, California
George Theodore Yeager was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He soon moved to Long Beach, California, where he attended Wilson High School. Soon after graduating from High School he joined the U.S. Navy. While he was a sailor, he traveled to Vietnam, Taiwan and Hawaii. When he had finished his 11 year journey he returned to Long Beach where he attended Long Beach College and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. Shortly after getting his degree he was hired by GSA as a Federal Police Officer. George remained with the Federal Police for 17 years. After retiring, he worked for security firms teaching and certifying personnel in the safe use of Basic Firearms.
During his duties as a Federal Officer he met his wife in a sandwich shop called “Room at the Bottom” at Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. George and Gloria were married in February 1985 on the Queen Mary. George is survived by his wife, Gloria, son Kevin & his wife Sarah.
George was an avid coin collector, wood worker, reader and tool collector. Nothing gave George as much joy as serving others. He was most proud of his years spent in the military, the Federal Police and, of course, with his loving family.
He always carried a badge in his wallet and loved to reminiscence. George helped so many people when he recognized someone in need, he would be one of the first ones to be there. It didn't matter whether it was helping the community with trash removal or helping family and friends get through any and all situations. George was a loving and generous friend, husband and father.
