My dads farewell 

As you all know my dad was a big hearted person and always willing to teach or be a good listener. He was a great athlete in his younger years at  soccer, football aka hands Vicario, basketball, dirt biking and his favorite passion was surfing. 

From the times I was little I remember the desert on Memorial Day weekend to ride dirt bikes, Ca Ca Rock reunions, the Slash X, the 8 track. We enjoy friendships that last a lifetime. The coaches were my dads best friends Manuel Cool Breeze Montecino, and Richard Cochino Leon. I would love to talk about a lot of the old stories around a campfire 🔥 one day again I hope. 

Going to Rosarito to enjoy Grandpa Burn’s old dinky wampas little bungalow at the beach. M80’s, bottle rockets, seafood and cold beer. Don’t drink the water or especially the ice.  

We used to take yearly trips to Zion National Park in Utah which were the best times of my childhood with tubing down the Virgin river. Hiking trips with my little sister on my back with the saying your Burning Daylight from Manuel if we weren’t up and ready for those hikes in the morning.

Weekend getaways to the beach in Bolsa Chica in the motorhome with good friends. The land sharks my dad and Richard. Linda and my mom. We had great times and good memories. 

I can say my dad was my best friend. He taught me everything from snaking a toilet to bbq a steak. He helped me through tough times and I also enjoyed the good times with him too. Lots and lots of stories and good memories with my dad. 

If I can give you any advice or something to think about: 

Work to live don’t live to work. We all need to enjoy life. Don’t let things hold you back or keep you down. Stay positive. Chase your dreams. Relax and don’t be uptight. Little things are everything so remember to stop and take  it in once in awhile, each second is precious. Be a good friend and you will have friends for your lifetime.

Baseball games, football, basketball,tennis, surfing he was good in every sport . He was the guy that you wanted on your team. I learned what good sportsmen chip was,because he was one of many. I remember quite a lot while growing up around him but we were unbeatable in basketball they call us the three at Barnes Park my brother Mike, uncle Frank,and myself Jerry know as rhino by my Uncle Frank we played from 5:30 pm to 10pm everyday but he got married to a great lady Jan and so be it we grew up.But I do remember! But we'll get the team back. Hold the basketball Court Uncle Frank and Mike. May the lord 🙏 be with you, Jerry 😎 God Speed
