

Donald Joseph Wilson was born November 18, 1937 in Plaquemine, LA, the son of Leona Ennis and Sanders Wilson. He grew up around a host of brothers and sisters. He said they were all older than him but very loving and close. His mother died when he was very young so he was raised by his sister Thelma Watkins and grandfather Samuel Craig.
Donald accepted the LORD and Jesus Christ as his savior at an early and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church by the late Rev. Sam Lundy in Plaquemine, LA. He moved to Los Angeles, California and joined Victory Baptist Church and maintained his membership until the end.
Donald was married to Patsy Ruth Thomas and raised a daughter Jill Francelia Wilson. He also served his country as an active reserve with six months training and seven years on call. Donald was a graduate of Iberville High School, Spellman School of Business, and trained at University of California Los Angeles. He worked with and is a retiree of Los Angeles County, Data Processing Department; where he faced various challenges and accomplished many goals. In addition, he freely shared what he had with family and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Leona Ennis and Sanders Wilson, brothers and their spouses, Leon and Ruby, Daniel and Irene, Earl Ennis; sisters and their spouses, Thelma Watkins, Mary Ennis, Estelle and Alton, Dorothy and Roland, and Cousin Reverend Clarence Jefferson and Gertrude Tardy.
His legacy of Love continues in those cherishing his memory, wife, Patsy Wilson, daughter, Jill Wilson Lyon, son-in-law, Thomas Lyon, granddaughter, Ariadne Lyon, grandson, Zachariah Lyon, brother, Sanders Wilson sister-in-law, Mary Wilson, nieces, Glenda Haney, Ann Marie Turner, Annette Simmons, Karen Simmons, Cynthia Ennis, Nieces Ennis, Daphnie Ennis and Beverly Poarch, and Goddaughter, Judy Tardy Morrison. He leaves five generations of nephews and nieces, (39 of them signed his birthday card on November 18, 2023), many cousins, Shelia Cobb, Margie Harper, Billie Jefferson, Patricia Henry, Sharon Penright, and Kevin Jefferson and a host of friends and a community that dearly loved Mr. Don.
