Chris was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married the love of his life, Mary Sue Costello (Reed), in 1977, and together they shared 48 years of marriage, building a life defined by love, family, and devotion. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue; his daughter, Christina Brandstetter; his son-in-law, James Brandstetter; his beloved grandchildren, Rooke, Paisley, Odin, and Zachary; his sister, Erin Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dawn Sais and Mark Costello, and his sister, Colleen Carrier.
He devoted 50 years of his life to the wholesale produce market in downtown Los Angeles before retiring, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family.
Outside of work, Chris enjoyed off-roading, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and taking road trips. Above all, he loved telling a good story. With a sparkle in his eye and a flair for a well-timed embellishment, his stories drew people in and always ended with laughter.
Chris found his greatest joy in time spent with his grandchildren. He cherished days at the desert with them, teaching them how to ride four-wheelers, shoot, and love the desert as he did. These moments of laughter, learning, and shared adventure created memories that will be treasured always.
Chris also loved bringing people together. He took great pride in making sure everyone felt welcome and comfortable, and he was known for his generosity, always willing to give the shirt off his back to ensure those around him were having a good time.
Chris will be remembered for his hard work, adventurous spirit, generous heart, and the stories that will continue to be told long after him. His legacy lives on through the family and friends he loved deeply and the many memories they shared with him.
