On Sunday, July 9, 2023, Cesar “C-Rod” Rodriguez, beloved Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Compadre, Nino and Friend passed away at 61 years of age in a tragic motorcycle accident.
Cesar Javier Rodriguez was born on July 6, 1962 to Honorato and Carolina Rodriguez in Los Angeles, CA. Cesar was raised in City Terrace most of his childhood before his parents settled in Bell, CA. Cesar married his wife Anna in 1985 and together they raised three children - Rudy, Valerie, and Jessica and one grandchild - Rudy Jr.
Cesar’s passions have always been boating at the river, playing softball, watching baseball, and riding.
From a young age, Cesar spent years developing a passion for the game of baseball/softball. He played on numerous teams, including travel softball. He was dedicated to supporting, playing, and being a reliable teammate that everyone could count on. His passion for the game could be seen in the countless hours he spent practicing and the effort he gave on the field to the sport he loved. He always told his family “just one more game and I’ll retire.”
He was a humanitarian at heart, always wanting to help everyone with whatever he could and lend a helping hand. He was the type to give the shirt off his back to whoever asked. He was rich in personality, and lived a very full life, he did it his way. Cesar was known to be the life of the party and was always turning every situation into a sarcastic remark to make you laugh or pester you.
Cesar was a dedicated family man. Cesar enjoyed his family time with his wife, children, and grandson. Together they often attended Dodger games, went bowling, weekend trips to Rosarito, or to simply go have a cold one near by. Cesar never declined an invite to go drink a cold one.
In his last years, his Harley Davidson became his passion. He spent countless hours in his garage completely remodeling and customizing his bike. There was always something new to add or update. It was never ending. He loved riding on the weekends with his nephew, godson, and friends.
In his last months, he loved to entertain his neighbors- The PR Wolfpack. Together, they enjoyed playing darts every week in his “man-cave” or would watch boxing/MMA fights together in the backyard. They became his family and best friends.
Cesar was the type to always keep in touch with his friends and always had to respond to every comment on Facebook otherwise he would say people would think he’s being rude.
He touched so many people in so many different ways and all of our lives are forever changed as a result of his presence. He will be forever loved and missed.
A visitation in chapel for Cesar will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - SkyRose Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - SkyRose Chapel.
