

Alvera Tasi Bowling, lovingly known to family and friends, passed away at the age of 98 on May 30th, 2026 in Corona, California. She was born on March 17, 1928, in Ottawa, Illinois, one of six cherished children.
Alvera was a devoted mother to her two children, Skip Bowling and Suzanne Lindsay, whom she raised in Fountain Valley, California.
She also was devoted to her bonus daughter Laura Baker who came to live with her during grade school.
Her family continued to grow with seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply and who brought her immense joy throughout her life.
Alvera had a strong work ethic and dedicated many years of service to JCPenney, where she worked until her retirement in 1990.
Beyond her career, she embraced life with energy and creativity. She was very involved with her church, King Of Glory Lutheran Church.
In her retirement, Alvera remained a vibrant part of her community.
She generously volunteered with Neighborhood Watch, participated in the Cox Schools “Read to Me” program, and was involved in a quilting club as well as the Fountain Valley Senior Center.
In her free time, Alvera found joy in tending to her plants and flowers, attending exercise classes, and working on puzzles. She and several friends enjoyed meeting once a week for their special movie dates. She lived a full and active life, deeply rooted in love for her family and community.
Alvera will be remembered as a warm, caring, and spirited woman who brought happiness to all who knew her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
