
Walter was the fourth of five children born to Lillian and Walter B. Johnson Sr.
Harold, Albert Weigen, Virginia Evelyn and Clyde Edward were his siblings.
He grew up in Washington D.C and Montross, Virginia. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in Oak Grove, VA in 1946. He was in the Naval Reserves. He lived with his family in Tucson, Arizona, San Diego, Baldwin Park, and La Puente, California.
Walter married Rosemary Loubey on May 4, 1949.
They had seven children: Donald Albert, Deborah Ann, Phyllis Jean, Kenneth Lee, Gerald Alan, Patricia Lou, and Sandra Marie.
Walter and Rosemary had more than a handful of grandchildren and a couple of great grandchildren.
Walter worked as a licensed real estate agent in his younger years; he also sold Fuller Brush products. Later he worked as a paymaster in the movie industry at Consolidated Film Industries (CFI) and at Movielab, Inc. He was an early learner of IBM equipment.
He worked as a security officer at Dodger Stadium and these race tracks: Hollywood Park, Los Alamitos, Santa Anita, and Fairplex in Pomona. He was a member of Teamsters Local 495 and Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
With his friend, Carl Garnett, he started his own Security Company; AAAA Protective Security Service, Inc. (Armed, Alert, and Always Available)
He was a square dancer, bridge player, and enjoyed attending water exercise classes.
When he did not like how a business was treating him, his favorite expression was “Who’s bringing who the cash?”
