God called our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, neighbor, and church member home 2 years ago on May 7, 2021.  We thank God for creating such a wonderful gift.

Today is your day for sure.  

Miss watching you eat your Father’s Day meal with dessert (chocolate cake - was your favorite with old fashion vanilla ice cream). 

You are truly missed today.  

On this remembrance day for my Grandaddy, I will remember the laughs, advice and the knowledge you given me to keep me going. I had a nice visit today, singing your songs and praying with you. 🤍

Looking at the smile on your Father's face, tells us what a joy his family was to him! You said you were a "Daddy's Girl" and I'm sure that brought him much pride to know he had your special admiration and affection. Although I never met him, I feel as though I almost knew him both through the stories you told and the characteristics and qualities you exhibited. I will continue to pray for you,  your Mother and your family in this time of grief and during the days to come as his memories, love and life lessons bring you more and more joy as time marches on. I want to express my sincere condolences to Thanayi  Lindsey and the entire Lindsey Family in this loss.  Although I did not know Fred Lindsey personally it is very evident that he was a man of God by the way his children and his family honor him.  On 05/07/21, the Lord called this dedicated solider from the battlefields to his reward in glory.   ​Matthew 25:23

Hey dad my most memory of you was ,  you never fail to mention me or ask about me when talking to your son,  when I had a chance to talk to you, you would always say I was your favorite daughter-in-law a laughable moment for both of us was I would reply and say dad I’m your only daughter-in-law 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You will be missed gone but never forgotten. 

Thanayi, I’ll always remember the warm reception that was extended to me by your parents, during my spring break visit to your home, and during the time we were roommates at Purdue.

My Uncle Daddy was a devoted husband, father and friend. He consistently and passionately loved, worshiped and ‘trusted in the Lord’ and didn’t mind telling anyone about the goodness of God.
I remember how I always looked forward to going on summer 😎vacations with my sister and cousins, Manya and Thanayi.
The vacations were so fun. Picture giggling little 👭🏽👭🏽 in the back of a 1969 Impala, known as the Green Machine, with a greasy brown paper bag filled with fried chicken 🍗, cake🧁 , soda and fruit 🍎.
He  enjoyed telling stories about the friends he made on his mail route and wearing his High School Letterman’s jacket. 
Uncle Daddy was actually very
 innovative back in the day. He used bricks...yes...actual 🧱s...and charcoal to make a BBQ pit! We enjoyed the dustiest homemade burgers-he was famous for his ‘Brick Patties’!
He walked me down the aisle on my wedding day and he has been a part of every special occasion in my life.
I will miss Uncle Daddy, but he will remain forever in my ❤️.

We praying for love and peace during this time of grief. Losing a dad,a husband, a brother and a friend so close to home can be very difficult. Just take this time to love an appreciate all the wonderful things and memories that you have. Remember that tomorrow is not promise to one, so cherish every moment you have left with the family and friends you have remaining. As the good book says weeping may endure for a night but joy will come in the morning. God is always and for ever in control. He can heal the hurt and mend the broken hearts during this time and years to come. So hold on to God's hand he will take you through. God bless your family.

To All of the Family.   It  has been my pleasure to know Bro. Lindsey and the entire immediate family.   Bro Lindsey was always one that would leave you with “I have a secret, one day I will tell you”.  I had the privilege of working as  a Trustee and him as a Deacon on the Calvary Baptist Church Joint board for over 20 years.  Being in this position really gave me a unique perspective on this MAN, whom I will always consider my friend and part of my VILLAGE FAMILY.
I am continuing to pray for all.   He is at PEACE.

WillieFred was a very fond cousin that always wanted to be around family when he came to Texas!  A sweet loving, Godly man and he was always looking out for others!  Lucille and the girls we will truly miss him.  MAY GOD FOREVER BLESS AND KEEP EACH OF YOU!  You are in our prayers.

Every memory of Brother Lindsey was filled with laughter and hugs.  He was a friend that stood closer than a brother. He ministered prayers for anyone and everyone who needed it -that was all of us. To his blessed family, thank you for sharing him with us....The Rayford family will continue to pray for your comfort as we learn to be without him here but he will always be a loving memory.

There are so many fond memories of my uncle.  He leaves an awesome legacy and will be greatly missed. His love for God and his family; and his willingness to help other people are just a few of the things I will always remember. I’m grateful and indebted for his investment in me. I feel connected to Mr. Lindsey from fond memories Thanayi shared, although I have not had the honor of meeting this gentleman!

Being a young boy with out a father figure in the home growing up, I will always appreciate the contribution you made into my maturation. Lots of kids have GOD parents but a fortunate few really gain family, mentors, friends and a source of encouragement. Thank you GOD Dad.

My sincere condolences to the family and my sister Thanayi Lindsey. I didn’t know your father personally, but from all of the warm memories you have shared, I know that he was a Man of God that loved, cared for and provided for his family. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. He is now you all’s ángel. Rejoice! For an angel has gone home.

I called him uncle Lindsey or Unc. for short ... He will remain in my collective memory, remain in  my soul, as the epitome of a real man, an enlightened man, O.G. on the GO ... more on this at our last respects, June 9, ... it was meant for us to cross paths ... Thank you Jesus for your infinite wisdom ... Sky ... 

What can I say about MY ‘Uncle Daddy’?
He watched over me here on Earth and now that he has his Wings, I know he’ll watch over me from Heaven. He had the best laugh, the biggest smile and the wisest words. I will miss him telling AND showing us that he could STILL fit into his High School Letterman Jacket and I’m going to miss him telling us about all those ‘mystery’ photos he has. But most of all, I’ll miss him ever proclaiming that Jesus is coming soon, his powerful  prayers and him belting out his favorite song, “I Will Trust in the Lord”. Rest well Uncle Daddy. Thank You for all you did for me - loving me, supporting me, encouraging me, motivating me, praying for me and correcting me (from time to time😉). I will miss you, but I know that I will see you again🌟🙏🏾🌟

I never knew this fine man, but I know his wonderful daughter. Thanayi’s commitment to justice and equality tells me that he was indeed a fine human being. I send my most sincere condolences to family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.  To the Lindsey family:  May the Lord continue to strengthen you during this time of loss.  Know that I’m praying for you, Thanayi and am grateful for our friendship.  

Uncle Lin may be absent from the body, but will live on in our hearts and memories. I remember traveling with him and my father to visit our community elders so many years ago. He taught me how to pray and sing! I look back and cherish those moments.
