I only had the pleasure of knowing Grandpa Bill for about 15 years, but I can honestly say I've never met a nicer, more humble man in my life. Having lost all my grandparents before the age of 30, I couldn't have asked for a better Grandpa-in-law. 
I miss having him at the house for Christmas and even at some of the car shows he went to with us. I assured him every Christmas or birthday check he sent was going directly to help build my '49 Chevy , so this car will always have a piece of Bill riding shotgun with me (along with Crystal of course).
I remember him always joking about coming to Vegas to see how his investments were doing and to see if he could cash out a dividend once in a while, and occasionally it would.

Rest in Peace Grandpa Bill, and we'll see you down the road.

  This week will celebrate you "Dad", a kind, loving man with a generous spirit, a quiet demeanor, and such patience.  I loved your smile, your laughter,  your stories, you and "Mom" laughing together and holding hands, that excited twinkle in your eye when you were enjoying a winning hand in Vegas, out on the lake relaxing  the day away with family, and scooping up my quarters around a friendly game at the kitchen table.  
  Thank you, Dad, for welcoming my family and me into your home and life oh so many years ago.  You have touched all our lives.  You will be missed.
  


I first met Bill Lane when I was stationed in California (84-86), serving in the USAF. I remember the stories he shared about doing electrical work at a "secret" military base...perhaps Area 51!

I was privileged to get to know Bill even more in recent years. Such a kind and loving man, it was easy to call him "Dad."

It gave me great pleasure to cook for him and know that he not only enjoyed what was prepared, he was also thankful for the food. He got to sample some of my favorite venison and goose treats!

Dad will be missed. The crazier the world gets, the more we need men like Bill Lane!

I’ll never forget what little time we spent together.  Your smile and laughter when we were playing cards and taking all our money last year was a great time. I wish I had gotten to know you more. I was glade I had the opportunity to go with you boating last summer. Your smile and laughter will never be forgotten.. 

Hey Pop's,  one thing I miss saying on a daily basis when getting home from work everyday,  asking you how you were doing and sharing my work day with you. You were a wonderful man, kind hearted, soft spoken, understanding, loving and you had the soul of a saint and it was a pleasure to know a person such as yourself. I was fortunate enough to spend the last 4 years with you and I very much enjoyed your company. I hope that we were able to provide you with joy, happiness, fun and love in your final years.  About 42 years ago you gave to me the most special of gifts, your daughter, something I treasure more than anything and I appreciate that you entrusted me with her. This is something I know is very difficult having given my own daughter away, but I feel very confident in her choice of a life partner as I hope you did.  You taught me so much about life without even knowing it and I did my very best to instill in myself some of your character as a kind,  loving man. I will truly miss sitting with you in the evenings watching movies eating popcorn and ice cream,  playing dominos, building puzzles with you, going for drives on Saturday morning just to get out and see nature, taking you out for bingo and going for rides on the boat. I enjoyed watching you with my children as they grew, you were always willing to spend time with them, no questions asked, and showed them nothing but love.  I appreciate the love and kindness that you showed our grand-daughter, I'm sure that she will carry the special times she spent with you for the rest of her life. You were a true man of God and you will be well rewarded for your dedication to being one of God's children. Pop's, you were the best father in law a guy could ask for and I will never forget you. May you rest in peace in heaven with Ma, Keith, and all the other family members that you will reunite with.  Give them all a big hug from  all of us. Love ya Pop's.

You were such a gentle, loving, and caring man to your family and friends. When Tom and Crystal were married you guys included me in your family Christmases and celebrations. I could tell how much your family meant to you, and you to them.
I know it must have been hard not being able to get around like you did before, but now you are with God and your family in Heaven, RIP

It’s a well known fact that Bill’s make the BEST grandpas and Bill Lane was no exception. He was my best friend’s grandpa and my mom’s best friend’s dad. He had a voice as sweet and warm as apple pie. He always welcomed us into his home with open arms and he never missed an opportunity to say “Good Night, I love you.” I like to imagine him reunited with Mary and the rest of his loved ones gathered around a  Craps table. My condolences to all that had the pleasure of knowing him. You will be missed but never forgotten Bill. Good night, I love you ❤️

Grandpa,
I pray you always knew that I loved and will always love you, please forgive me that I didn't stay in touch with you as I should have. You all always have and will always be cherished and loved . 
 We would always come and stay every summer with you and Grandma, we would always play pac man, you always won. You are with our Father God, Grandma's, Dad, John and all of angels we've lost along our lives. I know that we will one day reunite, when our Savior Jesus Christ comes for us. You are in the presence of our Father for eternity, I can hardly wait to be with him, you and all are loved ones we have lost along our way. And to know your new name as well as ours. I will never forget you, and I will always hold close to our time and memories we have shared close to my heart. Rest in Peace in the arms of Our Father God

Willams Lane is my great grandfather the memories I do have of him, he was a strong man. He has been and done alot of things in his life and will be in heaven with god. 

Grandpa, there are never enough words to describe the amount of love, joy and happiness you have brought to my life and this family. You have been the best man I’ve ever known and I’ve been so blessed to have experienced  your kindness, love and your love for God.  Not only have I had the honor of having you as my Grandpa but I’ve also had you as a dad not in replacement of my dad but as a continuation of him. I’ve been able to see how my dad would be and look as these years have gone by and I thank you for that more than you will ever know. You are strong and healthy with our Lord and Savior and back with Grandma, my dad and other family members that have been there with opening arms. I will always have you in my heart and memories and will miss you tremendously. I love you very much!!
