I don’t know much about this photo (I kind stole this snap of it from my dad actually). Such an iconic family photo. Look at how handsome my grandpa is and how stunning my grandma (always) is as well. Dad and uncle Ben look pretty sharp too.

Grandpa loved his family fiercely, but there was something so special about being his grandchild. Him and grandma always made me feel like I was the most important part of their lives. From the absolutely outrageous pastimes like being allowed to light stuff on fire with a magnifying glass in the backyard, to the miniature bb shooting range in the garage workshop, we were always getting into some mischief. One of my favorite core memories of us adventuring is the first time he taught me to ride my bike down (and back up) the sloped walls of the riverbed on our ride to seal beach. I was so apprehensive and remember asking, “but grandpa what if I fall”? He simply said get back on and try again. He always had the right answer, the simple wisdom that overflowed into a life lesson. I often think about how his encouragement has shaped who I am. He made me strong and resilient (maybe a little stubborn too) by just letting me be a kid and figure the world for myself. No amount of time with you will have ever been enough, until we meet again grandpa. I love you infinity times infinity to the moon and back and as big as the universe. 🌻❤️

The day my brother started his own family marrying the the most beautiful  Josie May. 

 They were  in  his shiny new turquoise Ford when she met me for the first time & called me honey. Boy did I like her immediately. Later, Bill was all puffed up with that booming voice  when he announced to the family, “She’s the one!”  He loves her so much!

 I think that was 67 years, 2 sons, 5 or so grands & a couple greatgrand kids  & many more to follow. How ever many, (my count is probably off) you all come from a man with a  huge kind heart, a strong will, & a big booming voice of laughter & love.❤️

On August 28, 2021 my Grandpa finally got to meet his great grandson for the first time. Seeing his face light up with such joy was such an amazing moment for us all. Joshua was a little scared at first, but warmed up quickly. Grandma, I’m so sorry that he had to leave you, but one thing is for certain, we will all be reunited with him in Heaven. 



Your husband, father, grandfather, friend, relative. He was my big brother. Always looked up to him; screamed for hours when he went away to fight in the Korean War & just didn’t come home like he usually did. Yes I was only 4 but 1 thing was for certain, I missed my Bill butter! I know you Bill, Ben & Josie May will also  grieve deeply for this man that was such a bigger than life presence. He was big & cuddly with a huge laugh & plenty of story.  I’m so sorry for our loss but grateful he rode away to heaven leaving his memories here with us to cling to. May all your days be filled with his love ❤️
