My deepest condolences to the Rojas family.  I had the pleasure of working with Veronica at Chaparral many years ago.  She brightened our day with her calm demeanor and was always there to help in any way she could.  Veronica was more than a school secretary, she cared deeply about the kids and the staff.  We knew if we needed something, we could turn to her for help.  You cannot think of Chaparral Elementary School without remembering Veronica.  My heart is with you in this  trying time.  I am so grateful to have many memories of her.

My sincere condolences to the Rojas Family! Veronica will be greatly missed!  She was so efficient in her work, she always helped our Kindergarten team and the rest of the school.   Moments spent with her during lunch time will be cherished forever!

I was shocked and so sad at the news of Perky’s untimely passing.  I’ve known Perk since our first year in high school, and she was like the sister I never had in my own family.  She was always there to help when one needed it; she always had a big smile because she loved her life, family and friends so much, and she was loyal and true to all that were lucky enough to be her friend.  My heart goes out to Perky’s family for their loss.  All of her many, many friends will mourn her passing and remember her with much love and fondness.  I will miss her very much. Rest peacefully, Sis.

I had the honor of working with Ms. Rojas when I first was hired for Chaparral.  She took me under her wings and taught me everything I needed to become a secretary.  I admired her and she became my mentor as I of course listened to her and tested for every position she told me to.  I loved that she would share her knowledge with who ever wanted to learn and I adopted that motto in my life at any school I work.  Seeing her in action with our students and parents was an honor and she will forever live in my heart.  Her last request to me was to take over her position in the union negotiation team and take care of everyone.  Let me tell you, it was scary but who could say no to Ms. Rojas.  I could never replace her but I only hope I made her proud with how I am working hard with my team to make sure everyone is taken care of.  I will miss calling her and getting advise while we shared stories.  She will live all around me, (Disneyland will be a special place for me).  Rhiana you are part of  our PSD family and know that I am only a call or email away if you need me.  Rest in peace Ms. Rojas and we will see you someday.  Miss you but keeping you alive with all the memories of our time together.   Love always you Lil Carmen

I was really sad when I heard of Veronica’s passing away. I thought it was an accident in a crosswalk involving other people. She just retired after 22 years with Palmdale School District. She was retired about a year before this tragic event took place. Totally unexpected. I worked with Veronica over the years as a substitute teacher filling in  at Chaparral Elementary School. In recent years, I covered a lot of assignments involving teacher training. Some assignments covered multiple days over a one or two month time frame. She recognized that I covered those assignments and thanked me for my service. I did not mind because I knew the teachers needed to complete the training. She was the person I saw when checking in at the counter. Always cheerful and took care of getting the things I needed to start my day in the classroom. She always thanked me for coming in to help the school. I didn’t mind at all. Veronica will be missed by many of those who knew her. My condolences to the family members.

To Rhiana and family, please accept my sincere condolences at this difficult time. I pray that God will comfort your hearts as you grieve this loss and that  the memories of your mother will place a smile on your face when your heart is aching.

I first met Veronica in 2001 as I traveled around to all the schools working with principals. Veronica always had a smile and story for me when I arrived. She kept things in check and would let me know if her principal needed extra care or a gentle push. During her last year, before she retired, we spoke often of our plans, hopes and dreams. She wanted to still serve and work with new school secretaries and we spent some time trying to work on those details. She touched more lives than any of us will ever know. I am praying for your family and know that after the unbelievable grief is lifted, God will lead you into peace.

I never worked directly  with Veronica  but when I worked as the district special ed. coach, I supported teachers at Chapparal.  She was always so kind  and made you feel like part of the Chapparal family. Her smile always made me feel welcome. She was a first rate example of "Director  of First Impressions". She will be missed. I pray for her family and all those who knew her as they process their loss.  God grant you strength. 

Mrs. Rojas was the most wonderful woman caring dedicated to her job, I have the pleasure to get to know her and work with her. Love the way she was always smiling in the office she love Chaparral and care about her coworkers, she was nice and care about me and my kids. I am always going to remember her and continue working and doing like she always want us to do, she care about her staff in the office she call us my girls, and we are her girls , we love her and respect her. I am sad she is not longer here Mrs. Rojas you always going to be in my heart never going to forget about you and all the things you share about work with me, you will be miss. Love always and forever.

I have so many fond memories of working at Chaparral with Veronica.  We saw eye-to-eye on many things (maybe because she was almost as tall as I am).  We shared lots of laughs and good times in those short four years I was there - including the times she would come to my office and ask me to just stand next to her computer so it would start working again - it always worked.  Then there were the times my family and I would go out to dinner and inevitably we would see Veronica with Pat and Tina at the same restaurant!    It was both an honor and a privilege to work with and know Veronica. Know that she will never be forgotten.

Mrs. Rojas was an amazing lady!  Our family have such fond memories of her working at Barrel Springs!  She always had a smile on her face and was so kind !  My children, Caitlin and Tyler, who are both in their 20’s, have wonderful memories of her kindness that she expressed towards them, as well as all of the students at Barrel Springs.  We were very fortunate to know such a wonderful lady!❤️

My heart goes out to you Veronica's family. I pray our Lord bring you understanding and peace during this unexpected time of grief. I am so, so sorry and deeply saddened for you all.

Veronica was a strong woman, yet kind and patient. When I needed her advice or suggestions, she always took the time when I looked to her for wisdom. She was fervent about fairness for the PSD classified and we are grateful for her time and dedication.
I learned much from her and forever hold on to that.

You must also know, I loved her hair and style and would find myself looking over to where ever she was to see what she was wearing. I admired her stylish self. She was beautiful.

God bless you. And although it's a time of saddness and questions of why, may your family find comfort knowing she's in heaven with our Lord God and all the beautiful angels.

Veronica meant so much to all of the people she came into contact with. Her leadership here at the Palmdale School District put her ferocious spirit and gentle heart in contact with so many of us. My first memory with her was due to insurance benefits and the union. She really cared deeply for all of her union brothers and sisters. I wish I could have met her a long time ago - the light she shared with the world was precious and she will be sorely missed!!
