Hi dad i cant believe its been 3 years that you have been gone,i miss you so much,life is not the same,as you know i lost tiny last august,im hoping and praying he is with you and your taking care of him til i get there,i can see you fishing with him and suzette and brandy and alk our pets that passed over the years,but loosing you and tiny has been very hard on me,so pleSe take care of him,i love you both,i miss you so much,sleep with the angels and i will see you again,i love you .love forever shelly .

Hi dad tomarrow is thanksgiving and I'm not in the mood .its not going to be the same without you. My memory  of you is from 2 years ago on thanksgiving at shannas house,you said you were so grateful for mom,and I cryed it touched my heart,you were a great dad granddad and husband.i miss you so much ,I love you and  until I see you again,I'm ready I'll be happy to go to heaven to be with you,rip my great dad,love shelly.

Terry Howe was an outstanding athlete.  In particular, he was FAST.  I mean, really fast.  I mean 10 seconds flat in the 100 yard dash.  I mean the fastest person at El Rancho High School.  But, nobody knew this because Terry loved baseball, not track.  He never ran with a clock.  He was never timed.  In a flag football game, the opposing team had the "fastest" runner at El Rancho on their team.  That fellow caught a pass and Terry ran him down from behind.  Clearly, Terry was the "fastest."  I played summer league baseball with Terry  for the mighty Urich Giants.  Terry played lots of sports for Rivera First Baptist in very competitive church leagues.  Flag football, volleyball and basketball were all on the docket but Terry loved softball.  As our third basemen, with his brother Stan at first, Terry was a mainstay for lots of years.  His athletic prowess did have its boundaries.  At a church youth group outing, we all went ice skating.  An invitation to participate in a hockey game was extended to all present.  Terry jumped at the chance.  He was a competitive guy but had one problem.  He could not skate!  Terry took a horrendous tumble, without being touched by the opponents, cracked his head and likely had an undiagnosed concussion.  Terry and I shared lots of fun times together.  All of them were during the years of about 1953 to 1963.  He and his lovely wife, Beverly Carr Howe were part of a group of wonderful people who grew up together and shared the experiences of being teenagers of the 50s in Pico Rivera, Ca.  Terry was very much "one of the good guys."  In every way, every day, that was indeed Terry Howe.  "One of the good guys."

I wanted to share another memory of my dad,he loved fishing,and sports,and when I was little my friends and I would be outside,he would be inside watching football,and he would be yelling and cursing  at tv if his team was messing up,my friends and I would all stop and listen then we all just laughed  it was so funny.i miss my dad so much ,not only was he a great father,he was also a father to my kids while they were growing up,they thought of him as there dad,and he was he is missed alot  I know I will see him again.i love you dad sleep with the angels,til I see you again.love shelly.

I went to El Ranchito Elementary in Pico, Ca with Terry.  In the fifth grade we had Mr. Howe and Terry sat behind me. We had a crush on each other. He had an older brother. Terry sat behind me and hit me on the head with a stack of books, an affectionate boyish gesture who was used to fighting with his older brother. I remember Terry's blond hair and blue eyes and intelligence. I know he led a good life.

My memories  of my dad,I have so many,I could go on and on,but the one memory that means so much to me is  in 2019 when he was in a convalescent  hospital and I would pick him up everyday to come home for a couple of hours,when I was driving him back one night he told me he was proud of me,I walked him in and when I got back in my car I started crying,so hard I couldnt drive for a few minutes because I was so happy to hear him tell me he was proud of me,I've been waiting for years to hear him tell me that,I love and miss my dad so much it doesnt seem real.rip dad until I see you again,not a day goes bye that I dont think of you.



I love and miss you so much grandpa. Our family won’t be the same without you but you taught us to be fighters and we will honor you in that way. ❤️ Thank you for everything
