Tae was born on September 29, 1981 to Sebok and Hyejung Lee, in Seoul, Korea. The family relocated to the US as expats for Korean Airlines when Tae was six years old, and he grew up in Torrance, California until college at Indiana University. After college, Tae moved to Seattle for his dream job at Microsoft Xbox and after a few years moved back to California for his MBA at Stanford University. He then lived and worked in San Francisco for Astro Gaming and later moved down to Southern California for Zefr. Tae found and married the love of his life, Emi, in September 2013. Two years later Tae met the second love of his life, Nolan, and then welcomed his joy, Miles, two years after that. During these busy years, he also founded, grew, and sold his own company Travo, and then moved on to Resort Pass until his passing.
Tae was a lifelong learner, interested in how things work from a very young age. He always asked questions and wanted to understand why and how. This interest extended least of all to people he met in all aspects of his life, to whom he was always kind and curious, able to get to their core and bring out the best in others. He was very smart, always full of ideas, quick with numbers, good with words. He knew how to lead and when to be led. He was strong in body and mind, demonstrated beyond any doubt in his brave epic battle with stomach cancer for two years and nine months, during which he paved the way for many others. He loved basketball above other sports he enjoyed, dogs above all other animals he loved. He loved to and did travel a lot, loved everything about food, and never missed an opportunity to have fun, or a good opportunity, period. Above all else he loved his boys.
He will be missed terribly by his wife Emi and his boys Nolan and Miles, his parents Sebok and Hyejung, his sisters Alice and Carol, as well as his in-laws, niece, nephews, and close loving family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be remembered fondly by so many good friends all across the globe.
