When I reflect on my Mom’s life, words seem to fail me. I know how fortunate I am to be her son and it’s an honor to call her my Mom. I feel like it would take a lifetime to write all of the beautiful memories I shared with her, but I would like to share a few of them with you. I hope they can convey what a wonderful Mom and Grandma she was.
I learned so much from my Mom. Watching her and Dad build multiple, successful companies together, I was inspired by her strong work ethic and admired her for being such a smart businesswoman. I was lucky to be able to work alongside her and learned so much from her.
She also taught me the important life lessons of being respectful, thinking of others, and never giving up. I watched her strength and determination in her battle with Parkinson’s and I’m still amazed by the way she persevered through it all with such grace.
I grew up watching how generous she was with her time and attention. She always put such care and thoughtfulness into gifts she got for others, always wanting to get something the person would really enjoy.
She was always calm and composed, no matter what was happening around her… Even when I went missing my first day of Kindergarten by walking home at recess because I thought school was over.  Or when I broke our neighbor’s window with a rock… She was always graceful under pressure.
Growing up, I have so many memories of family time together on our boat, cruising around Long Beach. Memories I will always treasure. 
Christmas was Mom’s favorite holiday. Every year before Christmas, we decorated the tree at her house with Stephen and Mikki. She also loved when the family got together for Easter brunch. She really treasured the time with her grandkids so much.
My Mom influenced my life in so many wonderful ways. I miss her so much and am so thankful to be her son.  I am grateful to each of you for recognizing my Mom as the wonderful and loving woman she was. 

We really love Susan. I grew up with Susan in my life since I was 7 years old. She was just like a real sister to me- she was always there for me- she went to every little event of mine. She was always so sweet- we would laugh about nothing on the phone! When I was a chubby little kid her and Gus took me for a makeover and bought me a new wardrobe at Montgomery Wards! We are so very sorry for the loss of Susan, to my brother Gus, Eric and Steven and Miki. Here is what I wrote for Susan;  "I see in the newborn morning, the innocence of your adoring, in the sky, with its transparent gneiss, I see the pureness and the clearness of your eyes, in the soft blowing and echoing of the wind, I can hear your voice whispering within, your voice, Susan, so tender-timbred and now free..and no matter where you are - you are with me." Love you Susan. 


I know words can’t take away the hurt  We are all feeling, especially uncle Gus and Our cousin Eric . but I want you to know how much I care. Sending you love and strength in this time of loss.  
“I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories “What is lovely never dies, but passes into another loveliness, star-dust or sea-foam, flower or winged air.” Aunt sue was an amazing women ! I loved her very much ! The love I saw between uncle Gus and her was always an inspiration of what I wanted in a relationship. The love I saw when they looked at each other was pure and lovely. Aunt sue had a wonderful life, amazing loving son and husband. She was always their when we needed advice and support. She always shared her home and love with us. We where very blessed to have such a fantastic uncle and aunt that loved us unconditionally! Auntie sue will always be in my heart and I will strive to be like her elegant, loving way!  She inspired all of us to be classy ladies! Even we where wild children she always loved us and was a beautiful example of what a good women is supporting her husband, child And extended family with everything they do! We will miss you beautiful Susan Karen Franklin! Susan Franklin a loving wife and mother! A wonderful aunt and sister ! I am so sorry I am stuck in mexico and cannot travel back Home to be with you now but I am with you in spirit ! I love you all ,  sending our love and lots of hugs virgina & oscar!
