Sun Ho Chan Leung was born in Enping city, Province of Canton, China on August 1, 1922. She married her husband Cheung Leung when she was fifteen years old in a traditional prearranged marriage. In 1945, she and her husband left the rural village of China to establish their career in Hong Kong and to raise their six children. They then immigrated to the United States in 1969 in hopes of providing their children with a brighter future. She remained faithful to her husband until his passing in 1996. She has resided in California for 40 years and had established a close circle of friends; nevertheless, she was always loyal to her siblings and relatives in China by often giving and supporting them during their times of need. Relatives and friends respect her for her generosity, honesty and easy-going personality.
On January 9, 2009 at 12:40 PM with her children by her bedside, she passed away peacefully at Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital. She is survived by five sons, one daughter, five grandsons and five granddaughters. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.
Her children and grandchildren will miss her dearly but are comforted by the thought that she is with the Lord.
