As a young man, Sullivan came to California and continued his schooling up until the time he became employed with the City of Pasadena. During his employment with the City of Pasadena he met Madie Lee DeJohnette and there started an unbreakable bond. In December of 1957, they married and remained married until her passing, but he always referred to her as his wife.
Sullivan remained at the City of Pasadena for over 40 years until he retired. After his retirement, he lived out the rest of his days playing horses for fun, keeping up with daily world events, loved his wife’s cooking, enjoyed family gatherings, and being a family man.
Sullivan was called home on August 26, 2021. He is survived by his daughter, Bobbie (Barbara) Cobb, his son, Albert Williams, his grandchildren, Ashley Cobb and Amelia Cobb, his great grandchildren, Sean Romero Jr. and Kendall Jenkins, his niece Janice Guyton, his nephews Kevin Guyton and Edward Guyton, along with a host of relatives and friends.
Proceeding Sullivan in death was Madie Lee Williams (wife), Lewis Williams (father), Louise Davis Williams (mother), Rozell Guyton (sister), and Geary Guyton (nephew).
If Sullivan Williams could leave you with a few words, it would be…… “Stand on your own two feet and take care of yourself because once a man and twice a child!”
