Dad, 

I can't believe you are gone. My heart hurts so much. You are on my mind the first thing in the morning and the last when I go to bed.  I miss you so much.  I miss your voice and hearing your jokes.  I miss the stories you shared with in the end and wish I had more time to hear them.  Seeing you in pain daily was not easy and it hurt more knowing the pain your were in. I hope you are resting in peace in heaven with God. I long to see you again and count the days when we will reunite once again. Till then dad, I love you now and forever.

You are tremendously missed Ruben! I have many memories of you that I will cherish forever. While you were recovering from your temporary vision loss, Socorro would stock up the refrigerator with your lunch that I would prepare for you.  I put cherry tomatoes in the salad. I saw that you ate the cherry tomatoes first. I thought to myself "he must like cherry tomatoes". I spent the following weeks filling your salad with about 10 to 12 cherry tomatoes. You laughed one day and told me "I don't like cherry tomatoes" as you moved your head from left to right. I was soooo embarrassed and felt bad that I tortured you with cherry tomatoes.
