He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather, and was fondly known by the name of Rudy by his family and friends. The oldest of 10, he was born in Whittier, California on August 4th, 1929, to Feliciano Fierros and Micaela Jara Fierros, and was subsequently raised in Zacatecas, Mexico.
In 1948 Rudy returned to California to pursue the American Dream. In 1960 Rudy met Rita Elena Carrillo, and they wed that same year. They had seven children together and settled in Norwalk, California. Rudy was a hard worker and dedicated 18 years to working at Market Basket before retiring.
Rudy cherished being a family man, taking pride in providing for his wife and children. He was very proud of his growing family. He enjoyed taking his children camping during their younger years, and later in life he enjoyed traveling abroad. Rudy’s hobbies included gardening, taking walks, watching baseball, attending parties, dancing, dressing to the nines, and playing cards.
Rudy is survived by his ten children, Arturo, Jesus, Rudy, Patricia, Victor, Irma, Jaime, Fernando, Gloria, and Javier, and by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A visitation in chapel for Rodolfo will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - SkyRose Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Linus, 13915 Shoemaker Ave, Norwalk, California 90650-4535. A graveside service will occur Friday, September 13, 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 966 Potrero Grande Dr, Rosemead, California 91770-4195.
