A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Van Nuys, 5940 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys, CA 91401. A graveside service will occur Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 11:20 AM to 12:20 PM at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park, 10621 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood, CA 91606.
Roberto S. Galvez, 87, was born on June 29, 1936, Zona 1 in Acatlán, Guatemala. Roberto also known as “Lelo” embarked on an incredible journey to the United States in 1956 with his best friend, Carlos, in pursuit of the American Dream. Roberto's adventurous spirit took him first to New Orleans, then Texas, and Missouri before he finally settled in Los Angeles. There, he built a large and beautiful family, who will forever cherish his legacy. Known for his charismatic personality and unparalleled storytelling, Roberto had a unique gift for making everyone feel better with his infectious laughter and jokes. Whether he shared stories of his youth or advice, he had a way of making everyone feel valued. His presence was a beacon of joy and comfort to all who knew him. He lived a life of simplicity, finding joy in the little things and cherishing moments spent with loved ones. Roberto is survived by his loving wife Blanca, six children: Carmen, Richard, Sergio, Dinora, Rosita, Robert— grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
