Bob was born to Glen and Wanda Beaudette on October 24, 1935, in Wichita, KS. They soon moved to Huntington Park, CA, where he attended HP High School and developed life-long friendships who he would continue to see throughout his life; they then moved to Lakewood, CA, after he graduated. He attended Long Beach City College and majored in Physical Education. He was an avid swimmer and diver and taught swimming at Swim Art in Lakewood for two years. He appeared on the TV show, City at Night, where he exhibited his swimming and diving skills. In 1956, Bob married Doris Whitfield, from Whittier, CA. They ultimately settled in La Habra, CA, where they raised their 3 sons Bobby, Steve and Dennis.
Bob was employed by the Vernon Fire Department for 39 years as an engineer. He received a Certificate of Commendation for fighting the Signal Hill Hancock Oil Fire. Bob was a dedicated fireman and loved his job until he retired in 1996. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Men's Club in Sun Lakes Country Club where he and his wife chose to retire. They enjoyed traveling with friends and going on golf outings, including Jamaica and Canada. He loved his sons and enjoyed spending time with them playing golf, visiting the casino and enjoying frequent dinners. Bob also loved dogs, especially boxers, and had many over the years.
Bob was a "one of a kind" guy with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Doris; sons, Steve (Diana), Dennis (Arturo); grandson Steven, Jr., and cousins Lee, Tina, and Linda.
A funeral service for Robert will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
