Dear Mae, Tomas, Rosita & Kobe,

My deepest sympathies to the Rico family.  Peter & I became good friends while our children attended Bella Vista.  We were both stay-at-home parents at the time and worked tirelessly together with the PTA & BVE staff.  Peter was thoughtful, funny, kind, a gentleman, and a caring, pro-active parent.  He loved his family so much!

Peter supported the Jets/Jetts for many years by recruting young basketball players , being a board member, and directing his division in our annual youth basketball tournaments.  Tomas and Kobe  grew up as players and supporters.   We have many great memories with your family.
We will miss Peter always.

When I received my AA from Rio Hondo College. My dad was so proud when he found out I decided to go back to school on my own terms. When I transferred to a 4-year institution, he was extremely proud. He will be missed. Thank you to everyone helping me and my family through this hard time.

Mr. Rico, you always looked out for my Ruby and I will always be so thankful for that. For the inspiration and support you gave her to know that she could take on anything. Thank you for always looking out for my family. I will miss your text messages with all the updates and pictures, you always went above and beyond not only for Ruby but for all kiddos.

Rico Family, I am so sorry for your loss please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. 

Your father was an amazing educator, leader and friend to many. 
 Mr. Rico will live on through all of his hard work and effort he put into his Girls Who Code club & his many students.  He will be dearly missed. 

Thank you Mr. Rico for giving kids a safe place to be. A place where they all felt they belonged and all were welcome. I will miss calling your classroom and hearing “Rico’s tacos” or “Rico’s homework time” among the many lines that always gave me a chuckle. 

I will always miss the strong and hardy “Fuentes” when you greeted me or whenever you walked past my desk. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your classroom and giving me a place as the BEST classroom Mom,( don’t worry I won’t tell Tiffany).

Among the many things I will miss is seeing you sit on the bench as you interacted with staff and students and while there are many more things I will miss, What I will miss most is your friendship.

Our condolences to Ms. Pang and family.  Mr. Rico has been instrumental in fostering Luna’s love for all things STEAM and coding since the 2nd grade. He went above and beyond to make sure that Luna was academically challenged, that her curiosity for science and technology were always met with enthusiasm and more curiosity. He was truly an exceptional educator. We mourn his loss immensely, and will cherish his time, commitment, dedication, and love that he showed Luna and her family. May you rest in eternal peace Mr. Rico.
