Peter Callihan, a brilliant mind, cherished friend, proud uncle, and devoted husband, passed away on February 24, 2025. Born in Harrisburg, PA, on September 10, 1944, Peter excelled academically, graduating from Parsons College and earning a Master’s from Springfield College. A natural teacher, he later transitioned from pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in academia to construction and real estate management—a journey that took him from Springfield, MA, to Atlanta, GA, and ultimately to Los Angeles, CA. There, he built a successful career in commercial property management and met his beloved wife, Helen Shih. Peter’s zest for life shone through his passion for motorcycles, laughter, and music. He is survived by his wife, Helen Shih; his nieces, Debbie Joe, Jennifer Lee, Stefani Kye, Tiffany Yi, and Jessica Shih; and his nephew, Eric Mar. He was preceded in death by his mother, Laurita Reno; his father, Philip R. Callihan; and his brother, Philip Ronald Callihan. Peter was truly one of a kind—a man who lived on his own terms, instilled independence in others, was deeply loved, and will be greatly missed.
