Ever since I met you, you were like a Grandma to me.  You were always so sweet to my kids and I.   Very loving and kind in every situation.  You made me feel welcome in your home and your family.  I will miss your delicious cooking and wonderful conversations.  You will be loved and forever missed from all of us.

Hard to believe that you are gone.  I am grateful to have shared so many wonderful memories with you over the years from the shopping trips, vacations, decorating for the holidays, but the one thing I will treasure the most is our shared loved of cooking.  I will miss our kitchen adventures from candy making to our many attempts at making tamales, even though we never quite got that right. I will miss sharing recipes with you and having you try some of my new recipes, waiting for you to show me some sign of approval.  The way you would beam with pride when something  I made was just as good as yours was all the approval I needed. Even though it will not be the same, I assure you that the cooking adventures will continue on. Christmas time candy will still be made, but with new helping hands( the girls) and mom and I at the helm. Don't worry you taught us well. I miss you dearly and I love you forever.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that you are gone. Every time I go to the house I keep expecting to see your face and hear your voice say, "Hi Babe".

As I reflect on our lives together, I can't even begin to thank you for all the things you have given me. What I am most grateful for is inheriting your love of family. All of us knew grandma's door was never locked and her heart was always open. It didn't matter what any of us needed, food, a place to stay, a ride to work, $20 for gas, heck even a role of toilet paper!

Holidays will never be the same without you. All the yummy food at Thanksgiving, your famous dressing, sweet potato casserole, and OMG, the apple pie! Christmas was the best. Our annual shopping trips to Through the Garden Gate, decorating the house, making toffee and fudge. I must admit, I was elated when you bought your first artificial tree. I know longer had to spend hours with you at every tree lot in town searching for the perfect tree. Of, course the tree you wanted was at the bottom of the stack. The poor lot attendant had to practically open every tree on the lot before you happy. 

I'm going to miss our weekly lunches out and shopping trips. You sure did get great joy from helping me spend Mr. Wallace's money. You beamed with pride when Chris would scold us and say, "You two are dangerous together".

We have shared so much together mom. I was so blessed to have you for so many years. Your unconditional love for your family has left some pretty big shoe to fill even though you had tiny little feet.

I love you so much mom and I miss you already.

Grandma,

It’s hard to believe you are gone. I’ve received my last happy birthday phone call, my last tray of candy to share with everyone I know, and you won’t be calling me in January asking if I’m still doing taxes. Though most of my cherished memories of you revolve around childhood trips, a variety of craft projects, countless hours in the kitchen cooking and the dreaded shopping trips to Nordstrom, it’s the small interactions that will be missed the most. The way you were always offering to cook for us, asking for new recipes to be printed from the internet, telling me all the ways you had already spent your tax return that I was still in the process of preparing. Your love for your family has always been evident. You were always there to take in those in need and to fill everyone’s bellies with delicious food you deemed not fit for the hogs. You lived a long, full life and I’m so grateful that you are resting peacefully now, reunited with  Auntie Vi whom I know you missed dearly. You will always be loved and will never be forgotten. I’ll never pass a Christmas tree lot, see a cockatiel, look at a velour zip up robe, or eat an Abba Zaba without thinking of you. I love you grandma. Thank you for the many happy memories, the wonderful meals, and all your love.

I will never forget how you took Coltin, Jaimee and I into your wonderful home, when we had no place to go. My most loved memories are you teaching me how to play new card games and allowing me to join you and your friends on poker night (even though you're friends would get mad when we took all there money lol).
 R.I.P Grandma you have definitely earned your wings. I will miss you always, and love you forever.
